Hi there ! I have spent many years working and refining my skills as a therapist, but I have also spent time working in leadership positions. I worked as an executive leader developing mental health programs in South Los Angeles, and also have spent much time supervising many qualified skilled therapists. The most rewarding and satisfying for me, is to work with clients... with YOU! Working closely with clients, providing a safe place where my clients can explore and resolve issues causing pain, worry, sadness, anger, confusion. It has been an honor to have clients say to me "Thank you for helping me change my life, I feel so much better!", my reply has been "We did this together! We are a great team!"

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, you can expect that I will introduce myself and ask you to help me by sharing what brings you to therapy. I encourage you to take your time, but also ask you to tell me about yourself , we move forward by establishing the next sixty minutes into a safe and comfortable space to work together.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

One of my greatest strengths as a therapist is that I create a warm, non-judgmental environment that you can count on each time you come to your sessions. I am also very respectful of all lifestyles and choices, the most important thing for me is that you feel that you are progressing in your therapy, that you feel understood and that you are moving towards a more satisfying and rewarding life!

Psychodynamic

This approach to therapy is helpful to promote self reflection, insight and emotional growth. I use it to assist my clients to understand patterns in relationships in order to improve intimacy, attachment, and meaning.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

This approach is very helpful and is an evidence based practice for the treatment of anxiety, I use it as a portal that introduces coping skills to reduce symptoms including overthinking, tension, irritability, etc..

Culturally Sensitive Therapy

I value and prioritize a persons culture as an integral component of therapy, taking into account important dynamics which directly affect a person and their life experience, including values, beliefs, language and rituals. T

Eclectic

This is a generalist approach. Because we are sophisticated individuals, often it takes more than one specific approach to understand and create change in our lives. An advantage that my years of experience offers is that I can integrate various approaches to my treatment method. I draw from the most relevant techniques to create an effective, individualized treatment plan.

Trauma Informed Care

Many of my clients have experienced trauma in their lives. My approach ensures creating a safe space where collaboratively with my clients we develop a trusting relationship. I focus on my client's strengths and empower them to build on those strengths while developing stronger coping skills.
