I'm David Stewart, a licensed marriage and family therapist and certified life coach with over 20 years of counseling experience. Prior to my 12 year licensed psychotherapy practice, I've lead an adventurous and broad career path. I am a paratrooper-qualified Army veteran, former owner of FCE Insurance Services, a Christian and former young adult minister of the Gospel. I hold a Bachelors of Science degree in Organizational Leadership and a Master of Science degree in Counseling Psychology These diverse and invigorating experiences have allowed me to engage with individuals from all walks of life, and I draw upon these experiences to connect with and inspire those I’m privileged to assist. My primary work involves helping clients identify and overcome thought and behavioral patterns that hinder growth and sabotage personal and professional relationships. I also guide clients in discovering their life purpose and desires, developing powerful, practical strategies to reach their goals. In a world where so many are struggling, I feel deeply blessed to work in a field that allows me to address these challenges and share in the victories my clients experience as we work together.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

The first client session is a meet-and-greet to lay the foundation for our partnership. New clients have the opportunity to openly share who they are and discuss their struggles without judgment. The primary goal of this session is for the client to feel accepted, heard, and understood. Clients also get a sense of my personality and humor, which can help make even the most challenging circumstances feel a bit lighter. From there, we’ll outline the next steps in addressing the client's current struggles and challenges, and clarify my role in helping the client achieve their desired outcomes.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My greatest strength is my ability to quickly establish an empathetic and compassionate connection and rapport with my clients. Having worked through many struggles in my own life, I bring a sense of credibility that clients can feel when I assist them with theirs. My life experiences, formal education, spiritual knowledge, and warm, accepting personality help foster trust and confidence, empowering our partnership to tackle and overcome whatever challenges clients bring to therapy. The solutions I offer are more than theoretical. My training as a Cognitive Behavioral Therapist, combined with my experience as a licensed Christian minister, allows me to provide guidance that is not only motivating and inspiring but also practical and measurable.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

My best work is with individuals and couples who are struggling but confident that solutions to their challenges exist, waiting to be uncovered. I believe that the most impactful outcomes happen when I can inspire my clients to believe in themselves, recognizing that the power to change lies within them—not in any “magic” I possess. My focus is on equipping clients with tools and strategies that enable them to trust in their God-given talents and abilities once they are identified. I encourage clients to approach our sessions with an open mind, ready to tap into internal resources that may have been minimized or buried for years. Clients leave our sessions feeling empowered, confident in themselves, and equipped to overcome their struggles, whatever those challenges may be.
