New to Grow
I’m Dr. Joseph Jacobs, a licensed clinical psychologist who helps clients explore patterns in their thoughts, emotions, and relationships in a thoughtful, collaborative way. My work integrates insight-oriented therapy with practical, evidence-based strategies, tailored to each client’s needs. I work with adolescents and adults facing anxiety, mood concerns, relational challenges, and life transitions, supporting them in gaining clarity, resilience, and greater confidence in navigating their lives.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
The first session is a chance for us to get to know each other and begin understanding what’s been difficult for you. I’ll ask about your concerns, relevant history, and what you’d like help with, while also leaving space for questions or reflections you may have. We’ll discuss goals and how we might work together moving forward.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
One of my greatest strengths is creating a supportive, collaborative space where clients feel understood and respected. I integrate thoughtful exploration of emotional patterns with practical, evidence-based tools to support change. My experience across inpatient, school, and university settings allows me to work calmly and effectively with complex challenges and help clients achieve meaningful, lasting progress.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I’m especially well-suited to work with individuals who are feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or caught in recurring emotional or relational patterns. Many of the clients I work with are navigating anxiety, mood concerns, life transitions, or challenges around identity, relationships, or self-direction. I work best with people who are curious about themselves and open to both reflection and practical change, whether they’re new to therapy or returning with specific goals in mind.
Integrative
I provide personalized therapy using psychodynamic approaches along with CBT to help clients manage anxiety, depression, and relationship or identity challenges. I work with adolescents, young adults, and college students, including those navigating cultural and religious identity.
