As a Licensed Professional Counselor, I am passionate about helping others rise above life's challenges by guiding clients in better understanding their story and life experiences that will help identify what may be keeping you from moving forward that will allow us to work together to get you on the path to living the life you want to live. I am dedicated to empowering clients on their journey to stability and inner peace with a focus on the therapeutic relationship, evidence-based treatments, and creating a compassionate, accepting and safe environment for you to thrive and build lasting resilience.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

I believe one of the most courageous things you can do is begin to understand your own story. It can be scary to open-up about your experiences, especially to a stranger. In our first session, my goal is to create a welcoming, safe, and comfortable atmosphere to get to know each other and talk about your life experiences. From there, we will continue to work collaboratively to create a treatment plan tailored to your needs.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Through my experience in the field and using various treatment modalities, I have developed a holistic approach to help my client's heal in all aspects of their lives- mind, body, and soul. My strength is focusing on mindfulness-based techniques and other essential tools that target not only thoughts and emotions, but body sensations and what is happening within the body.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

When working with clients, I use CBT to empower clients to develop practical skills and strategies to effectively manage and improve their thinking patterns and behaviors. My experience with CBT involves collaboratively setting goals, identifying and and challenging negative thinking patterns, teaching coping strategies, and practicing behavioral modifications to promote lasting change.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

Using DBT in practice has been transformative for clients, as it fosters growth, resilience, and empowerment in individuals facing complex challenges. DBT blends acceptance and change strategies, empowers clients to manage overwhelming emotions, improve relationships, and build a life worth living. Implementing DBT involves guiding clients through mindfulness practices, emotional regulation techniques, interpersonal effectiveness skills and distress tolerance strategies which helps clients develop coping mechanisms, increase self-awareness and make meaningful progress towards their goals.

EMDR

My experience with EMDR therapy as been life-changing, as it involves guiding clients through a transformative journey to process and integrate traumatic experiences. Through the EMDR process, clients can begin to release the emotional charge attached to their memories and reclaim their sense of control and resilience. It's an empowering approach that fosters healing and growth, often leading to profound and lasting positive changes in clients' lives.
