Hello, I'm Shannon. In addition to being a Mental Health Provider, I am also a Nationally Certified Professional Mediator (NCPM). I have over 10 years of experience working with children, adolescents, teens, individuals, couples, and families from culturally diverse populations on a wide range of issues and concerns. My approach is collaborative. I believe that by working together, a positive outcome is achievable. I provide a warm, open, non-judgmental environment where one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are explored and discussed in an objective, respectful, empathetic manner. I am licensed in California, Colorado, and Texas. At this time, I only provide services virtually through a secure telehealth system. Four things I want you to know before you begin therapy with me: 1. I want treatment to work just as much as you do. 2. I am not judging you, and need to hear all of your truth(s) in order to best support you. You can't heal what you won't reveal. 3. I will not fight you for your healing. What that means is: I will not work harder than you do. However, I will be right there beside you as we navigate your Mental Health journey together. 4. If you don't connect with me, that's okay. Don't be afraid to try someone new, and keep trying until you find the right fit. I look forward to working with you!

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we'll start with introductions, then dive into the specific challenges you're facing. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work though in follow-up sessions. It is my belief that once an individual understands the relationship between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, they will then be able to modify or change their pattern(s) of thinking to cope with stressors in a positive manner.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

One of my biggest strengths in providing mental health services is that I really do listen and I really do care about the things you share with me. When you will tell me something in a session, weeks later I can and will remember the who, what, when, where, why, and how of the conversation. Also being a Nationally Certified Professional Mediator has helped me a great deal as a mental health provider. I am able to break down the layers of a situation or conflict with the goal of a positive outcome for everyone involved.

My treatment methods

Eclectic

Eclectic therapy is an integrative approach to psychotherapy that aims to discover and implement the most effective treatment for each individual. Instead of following a predefined methodical structure, eclectic therapy pulls from various therapy techniques to treat each person as unique individuals.
