About me

I’m a licensed clinical psychologist dedicated to helping adults and young adults navigate life’s challenges with compassion and practical tools. I work with clients facing depression, anxiety, trauma, life transitions, chronic health conditions, and identity exploration—including those within LGBTQIA+ and neurodiverse communities. My goal is to provide a safe, affirming space where you feel seen and supported, while also offering evidence-based strategies that bring real change. Together, we’ll work toward reducing distress, strengthening relationships, and building a more balanced and meaningful life.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Our first session is about getting to know you—your story, what brings you to therapy, and what you hope to get out of our work together. I’ll ask some questions to better understand your history, current challenges, and strengths, but there’s no pressure to share more than you feel comfortable with. We’ll also talk about what therapy might look like with me, including setting goals and discussing approaches that feel like the best fit for you. Many clients describe the first session as a chance to take a breath, feel heard, and begin to see a path forward. My goal is for you to leave with a sense of safety, clarity, and hope that change is possible.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

One of my greatest strengths as a therapist is my ability to balance warmth and compassion with honesty, humor, and a touch of irreverence. I believe that therapy doesn’t have to feel heavy all the time—sometimes laughter and a straightforward perspective can open doors that endless analysis cannot. Clients often tell me they value how I create a safe, affirming space where they feel deeply understood, while also using real talk to gently challenge them to grow and try new strategies. My approach blends evidence-based practices such as DBT, Motivational Interviewing, and trauma-informed care with a deep respect for each person’s lived experience. I have more than 20 years of experience working in community mental health, medical, and training settings, and I bring that breadth into every session. What makes me unique is the combination of my clinical expertise, my lived commitment to inclusion and cultural humility, and my belief that therapy should feel alive and authentic. I strive not just to help people manage symptoms but to build resilience, strengthen relationships, and create a more meaningful, fulfilling life—with room for humor along the way.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My clients tend to be those who are tired of carrying heavy emotions on their own and are ready for things to feel different. You may be struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, or the weight of past experiences that still impact your present. Perhaps you’re navigating a big life transition, questioning your identity, or trying to manage the stress of relationships, work, or health challenges. What my clients have in common is a desire for both understanding and practical tools. They want a therapist who will truly listen, honor their lived experience, and also offer strategies they can use day to day. Many of my clients identify as LGBTQIA+ or neurodiverse, and they value having a therapist who is affirming, culturally responsive, and mindful of the unique challenges that come with multiple identities. If you are seeking a safe space to be yourself, to gain clarity, and to build resilience, you may find that my approach is the right fit for you. Together, we can work toward reducing distress, improving relationships, and creating a life that feels more balanced, authentic, and fulfilling.

My treatment methods

Integrative

I believe therapy is a collaborative process where safety, respect, and curiosity guide healing. My approach is warm, direct, and culturally responsive. I aim to create a space where you feel understood, supported, and empowered to make meaningful changes.

Compassion Focused

Together, we’ll explore the patterns that are keeping you stuck, build skills to manage life’s challenges, and strengthen your sense of self. My style balances validation with gentle challenge—I will meet you where you are while also encouraging growth.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I often integrate Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) into my work with clients who are struggling with overwhelming emotions, self-criticism, relationship difficulties, or feeling “stuck” in unhelpful patterns. DBT is an evidence-based therapy that blends acceptance and change—helping you both validate your current struggles and build the skills needed to move toward the life you want.
