About me

Hello, I am an experienced Bilingual/Bi Cultural Spanish fluent, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, raised in Los Angeles, CA. I earned my Master's Degree in Social Work from the University of Southern California (USC). I've been in practice 14 years. My passion is helping people facing depression, anxiety, grief, relationship struggles, and life changes. My goal and purpose are to help clients develop into the best version of themselves and to gain the skills to manage their daily lives with hope, happiness, purpose and determination. I utilize empathy, compassion and active listening skills to meet clients where they are at in their mental health journey.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

First session, I meet the client where they are at, create a safe and non-judgmental space for them to trust the process, a brief introduction and then dive into the matters that are challenging their lives. The first session, the mental health assessment will be an opportunity for us to get to know one another. We will discuss your background, any past history of mental health diagnosis, and what brings you to therapy. Therapy is a process, and we will continue to build our therapeutic alliance over each session. It’s completely normal to feel anxious about your first appointment. We’ll take it one step at a time, and I’m here to guide you through each step of the process. I will praise you for showing up to your first appointment which is the hardest step.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

Having worked in this field for over a decade, I know that seeking support can be difficult in the beginning. However, asking for help is a strength, and I will guide you through the process of growing and healing. My therapeutic style is genuine, calm, empathic, compassionate, accommodating and personable. Making you feel safe, comfortable and listening closely to your needs will help you trust me and build the therapeutic alliance that is vital to feeling heard and connected to me. Looking forward to meeting you.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I love working with clients facing depression, anxiety, pain, fear, low self-esteem, lack of confidence and motivation. Sometimes clients are motivated to improve their lives, but lack the coping skills and mindset to move forward, as they feel stuck.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT as a tool to help clients to become aware of inaccurate or negative thinking so they can view challenging situations more clearly and respond to them in a more effective way, teaching them techniques for coping with stressful life situations and identify ways to manage emotions. In my experience it has been an effective way to assist my clients and it is also used in conjunction with psych meds.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

Psychotherapy that helps you stay focused on the present moment and accept thoughts and feelings without judgment. I use this type of therapy to help the client move forward through difficult emotions so they can put their energy and focus into healing instead of dwelling on the past and negative emotions. I assist them with living in the present, in the here and now.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

Utilize this tool with clients by teaching them to be aware of internal thoughts, feelings, and emotions, as well as their external surroundings and situations, without automatic responses such as judgment or stress. Teach them breathing, relaxation techniques, meditation and other coping skills.
