Welcome! I'm Walter Holloway. Take a moment to acknowledge you've taken the first step towards bettering your mental health because, let's be honest - starting therapy can be empowering, confusing, or scary, all at the same time. I strive to create a safe and welcoming environment that allows clients to explore obstacles with concerns related to anxiety, depression, and/or self-care. I focus on helping clients develop assertive communication & boundaries with themselves and those around them that can help improve their quality of life. Counseling can foster personal development in whatever way you may be seeking and help build the life you so deeply deserve. If that's what you're looking for, I'm here when you're ready to share.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, I will get clarity on background information, start out with brief introductions, then talk about challenges you've been facing. Expect totally confidential setting. The only time I would have to breach confidentiality is if you admit to being suicidal/ homicidal with a plan. The key word is plan. If you are have thoughts we can work on thoughts in therapy. With a plan, involuntary hospitalization is required and authorities would have to get involved for safety reasons.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I take a nonjudgmental/reality approach. I like to to be open and honest with people because I like for people to be honest with me. I also don't think that I a "Therapeutic Guru" that has all of the answers. I don’t pass judgment, that’s not my role. I believe in being fair and honest.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I’ve been using CBT in my practice for the past five years. It’s helped dozens of clients challenge reoccurring thoughts and manage their anxiety. We’ll use CBT to recognize how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors influence each other. We’ll then use that knowledge to change your thinking patterns, which will help you lead a less anxious and stressed life.
