I am a board certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP- BC). I completed my post graduate training at National University in Psychiatry for Adults, adolescents and children completing the certification in 2021. I graduated from Charles R Drew University in 2018 with my master’s degree as a Family Nurse practitioner. I completed my bachelor’s degree in nursing from California State University, Fullerton (CSUF) in 2016. I have an Associate degree in Nursing with Public health certification from Los Angeles Southwest College in 2009 which has helped me meet the needs of the Los Angeles community. I have always loved science since childhood hence my determination to pursue a career in the medical field. I take particular interest in mental health managing conditions such as anxiety, depression, bipolar disorders, mood disorders, adjustment disorders, schizophrenia, personality disorder, eating disorders, grief, and loss. I have a versed knowledge in Substance abuse and its treatment. I am very engaging and am excellent in talk therapy specializing in Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). My expertise lies in the ability to provide quality, compassionate, and comprehensive mental health services including medication-assisted treatment in combination with counseling for chemical dependency and substance use disorders. I engage in a holistic approach with client focused care to achieve optimal goals. Outside of medicine, I enjoy learning about different cultures and love to travel. I also enjoy cooking, watching movies, shopping, and spending time with my family.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

I will do a thorough assessment of the patient and evaluate them based on the symptoms presented. I use assessment tools such as PHQ 9, GAD 7, Mood questionnaire, using the DSM 5 criteria to properly diagnose patients during the first session. I will be obtaining a complete history - past medical and mental history, medications taking and family history. Will determine if patient needs medication, therapy or both.

Holistic, patient centered approach and use of cognitive behavioral model to educate and reinforce positivity rather than negativity.

Management of Anxiety, depression, bipolar disorders, schizophrenia, ADHD, eating disorders, personality disorders, PTSD, bipolar disorders, dissociative disorders and substance use disorder.
