Hello, and thank you for considering my services for your mental health needs. I am a board-certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner & hold a Master of Science in Nursing from Columbia University. I have a passion for providing comprehensive mental health care to individuals of all backgrounds. With 6 years of experience in nursing through various work-settings , I have dedicated myself to helping clients navigate their mental health journeys with empathy, understanding, and expertise. Our approach will be holistic, focusing on the needs of your entire being while integrating mindfulness practices. Regardless of what you’re dealing with; I am here to support you.
The initial psychiatric evaluation is approximately 60-minutes, focusing on your symptoms and work toward a diagnosis. We use this time to review your current presentations as well as your medication, medical, family, and psychiatric history. We consider whether medication management would be appropriate for you and come up with a plan together to help you move in a new direction. Each treatment plan is individualized and catered to each patient.
I firmly believe in taking a holistic approach to mental health, recognizing that each individual is a unique combination of physical, emotional, social, and spiritual elements. My goal is to address mental health concerns not only from a clinical standpoint but also by considering the interconnectedness of various aspects of a person's life. Therefore, I strive to create a safe and inclusive space where clients feel heard, respected, and understood regardless of their race, gender, cultural and religious background.
Are you constantly feeling like you can’t catch a break with life’s challenges pulling you in all directions? Are the days increasingly longer and the nights shorter? Are you tossing and turning most nights and wake up exhausted. Are you getting more forgetful, finding it hard to concentrate, or get easily distracted ? Have you noticed a change in appetite with drastic weight fluctuations? Maybe you find yourself crying for no reason and lashing out on people that you love and care for dearly. Have you experienced Trauma that has left you feeling anxious and on edge? Well guess what, You do not have to face these challenges alone!
I've found Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to be a cornerstone of my practice. CBT is a structured, goal-oriented approach that focuses on identifying and changing negative thought patterns and behaviors that contribute to emotional distress. I incorporate CBT for assessment/goal setting, identifying negative thoughts and cognitive restructuring.
