In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Initial Consultation: A Comprehensive Assessment Your first appointment is a thorough evaluation designed to understand your unique needs and health history. We will discuss past treatments, current symptoms, lifestyle factors, and any concerns you might have. We will identify your goals for therapy and discuss any preferences you may have regarding treatment options. Based on the information gathered, we’ll develop a tailored treatment plan that integrates conventional and alternative approaches, which may include: - Medication Management: If appropriate, we may prescribe medications to manage symptoms, with a focus on minimizing side effects. - Psychotherapy: We offer various therapeutic modalities such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based approaches, Eye movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), or Emotion Freedom Technique (EFT) along with other therapies. - Complementary Therapies: We may incorporate practices like nutrition counseling, mindfulness, stress management techniques, or lifestyle adjustments to support your mental health. We also collaborate closely with other alternative practices like acupuncturists, massage therapists, and chiropractors to address co-occurring symptoms. In addition, we provide evidenced-based recommendations for supplements, minerals, and herbel remedies that have been proven to be effective for many mental health concerns. Your journey doesn’t end with the initial appointment. We believe in continuous support and collaboration, including regular follow-ups. We will also discuss holistic integration and integrate feedback and new developments in your life into your treatment plan. We’ll equip you with tools and strategies to manage your mental health proactively. I am dedicated to providing compassionate, personalized care that respects and values your individual needs. My goal is to empower you on your path to mental wellness, ensuring you feel supported and understood every step of the way.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

Mindfulness-based therapy is a type of therapy that helps people become more aware of their thoughts, feelings, and actions in the present moment. The goal is to learn to respond to situations and stressors without judgment or reaction. Mindfulness-based therapy often includes techniques like: Meditation: A practice that involves focusing the mind on a thought, object, or occurrence to achieve a clear state Body scan: A meditation practice that involves scanning the body for tension, pain, or anything out of the ordinary Mindful movement: Incorporating gentle movements, like yoga, to connect the mind and body Some principles of mindfulness therapy include: Non-judgment, Patience, Beginner's mind, Trust, Non-striving, Acceptance, and Letting go. Mindfulness-based therapy is often combined with other types of therapy, such as Cognitive-based Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), or Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Research has shown that mindfulness-based interventions are effective for treating anxiety, depression, and chronic pain.

Trauma Informed Care

Trauma-informed care (TIC) is a strengths-based approach that aims to promote healing, resilience, and well-being for people who have experienced trauma. TIC is based on the understanding that trauma can impact people physically, psychologically, and emotionally. It's used in a variety of settings, including healthcare, education, and the workplace. TIC approaches include: Understanding a patient's life experiences: TIC acknowledges that understanding a patient's life experiences is important for providing effective care. Creating safe environments: TIC aims to create environments that are safe, supportive, and empowering for survivors. Reducing re-traumatization: TIC seeks to prevent practices that may cause stress or remind people of prior traumatic experiences. For example, staff are taught to recognize how organizational practices may trigger painful memories. Some key principles of TIC include: Safety Trustworthiness and transparency Peer support Collaboration and mutuality Empowerment, voice, and choice Cultural, historical, and gender issues

I got this by randomness . But she really helped me see that I was being wrongly medicated. She is starting from the root of my problem. She listened to me instead of throwing meds at me, that let's me kno she knows what she's doing.
