Welcome! I am a licensed clinical social worker practicing in Illinois. I graduated from the University of Illinois with a Masters in Social Work in 2014, and my days are spent being a school social worker. I also have experience in community work, supporting families and youth who have been impacted by community violence. I am a licensed foster parent and have firsthand experience with parenting youth who have experienced trauma.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

The first session (and all sessions, really!) is all about relational safety and building trust. This could include games, art making, getting to know your favorite things, or conversation during an activity. Clients can come to therapy just as they are. I see clients virtually, ages 8 through young adult (post-high school age). Whether you are searching for a therapist for yourself or for your child, please reach out for a free 15-minute consultation call or send an email to see if we would be a good fit. I look forward to our potential work together!

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Building safety is my main priority when working with clients so that we have a strong foundation to build upon. Healing happens within the safety of relationships! I have received extensive training on trauma and have provided training to my colleagues on supporting youth who have experienced trauma. Strength-based and neuro-affirming care is very important to me. No one who comes to therapy is broken or needs fixed! I welcome you as you are: a person needing to be seen. I am currently in the process of becoming a Registered Play Therapist, which requires extensive training and supervision. For additional information on play therapy, visit www.a4pt.org.

My treatment methods

Trauma Informed Care

Trauma informed care is at the core of all of treatment and support that I provide. I view my social work practice through a trauma-informed lens.

Strength-Based

As we work together, we will use your strengths to build additional skills and tools as needed! I am neuroaffirming and recognize the strengths that people have within them.

Play Therapy

Play is the language of children! I provide opportunities of play for children and youth to express themselves in ways that they are unable to with words alone.
