As a counselor, my passion lies in supporting individuals to reach their fullest potential. Life often presents challenges beyond our control, and early experiences can shape our adulthood. My primary goal is to guide clients beyond their pain, empowering them to embrace change. It’s essential to recognize that transformation requires ongoing effort it’s not an overnight process. Rather, it unfolds second by second, minute by minute, hour by hour, and day by day. I am committed to walking alongside them on this journey toward greater well-being.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In my practice, I hold each client in high regard, ensuring they are treated with the utmost dignity and respect. My aim is to establish a strong, positive connection that fosters a secure environment, allowing clients to confide in me, perhaps sharing things they wouldn’t with others. The trust placed in our therapeutic relationship is something I value deeply. Utilizing my professional skills, I support clients in their courageous step toward counseling, recognizing and validating any distress they may experience. I strive to meet clients where they are, creating a space where they can be authentic, all while maintaining professional therapeutic boundaries.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My approach to counseling is greatly enhanced by my sense of humor, which serves to engage clients more deeply in their mental health journey and humanize the therapeutic experience. Additionally, I possess a keen ability to guide clients in recognizing and accepting their blind spots, fostering a greater sense of self-awareness that, in turn, heightens their awareness of others.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

In my counseling approach, I primarily utilize cognitive behavioral theory to help clients understand how their negative automatic thoughts impact their lives, I teach them techniques to recognize, modify, and regulate these thoughts, empowering them to problem-solve effectively.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

I utilize Solution -Focused Brief Therapy to assist clients in identifying their primary issues. I collaborate with them to create potential solutions for addressing their distress and teach them proactive coping skills to enhance their ability to manage future challenges effectively.

Psychoeducation

In my sessions, I employ psychoeducation to teach clients coping skills that alleviate stress. Homework is assigned to reinforce these skills outside of our sessions. Additionally, I use role-playing as a tool to help clients practice and become more comfortable with these skills, especially in resolving conflicts with others.

Relational

When working with clients who have relationship issues, I draw upon relational therapy techniques. My approach involves building rapport with clients, helping them explore patterns of thoughts and feelings related to themselves within their relationships, and assisting them in identifying recurring patterns in their interactions with others. By understanding these dynamics, clients can gain insights and work toward healthier relationship patterns.

Grief Therapy

In my therapeutic practice, I guide clients through the grieving process by first aiding them in identifying the stages of grief. For those unfamiliar with these stages, I offer educational support to help them self-assess and better understand their emotional and mental states during this time. I stress the importance of allowing time for this process, emphasizing that grief is a journey without a predetermined end. Through active listening, I acknowledge the life of the person they have lost and any other losses they may be facing. My support focuses on helping clients realize that the objective is not to hasten through or ‘get over’ grief but to experience it at a pace that feels right for them. Additionally, I incorporate psychoeducational activities to teach self-care techniques and encourage clients to find creative ways to honor their memories of the lost
