New to Grow
I have been working in the mental health field since 2018. I have experience working in corrections, addiction and recovery, general, OCD-specific and LGBTQ-specific outpatient settings and in residential treatment for children and adolescents with dual diagnoses. My niches include Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Gender Dysphoria and anxiety. I also work with many other issues and co-occurring disorders. I look forward to working with you!
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
We will be focusing on rapport building and information gathering so I can come up with a treatment plan to meet your needs.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
I utilize an integrative approach to meet clients needs. I use evidence-based therapies such as Exposure and Response Prevention, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and Motivational Interviewing to help promote personal growth and self-esteem building in my clients.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
My areas of specialization include OCD, phobias, illness anxiety, gender dysphoria/LGBTQ+ issues, general and social anxiety, substance abuse/addiction and recovery, dual diagnosis issues in adolescents and adults and depression. I utilize an integrative approach to meet clients needs.
Exposure Response Prevention (ERP)
I help with gradually exposing yourself to your fears and actively resisting the urge to perform compulsions. We will create a hierarchy of fears, starting with less distressing situations and gradually moving to more challenging ones. During exposures, you sit with your feelings of distress until they naturally subside without engaging in your usual compulsions.
Acceptance and commitment (ACT)
ACT involves a collaborative process between the client and therapist to identify and understand the your values, develop strategies to increase acceptance of difficult experiences and encourage you to take action towards your values.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I will help you identify your negative thoughts and beliefs, challenge the validity of these thoughts and develop coping strategies for dealing with negative thoughts and emotions.
