LICSW, 9 years of experience
I incorporate visual aids and technologies present on this platform to help clients visualize and firmly grasp topics and flow of ideas that we are discussing. I speak from both a professional and life experience perspective so that people know that I understand where they are coming from and where they want to be. As a former collegiate athlete that was the first to graduate college from his working-class family - I speak from experience when helping young adults cope with the pressures that they regularly face in this day and age. My areas of expertise include adjustment issues, men’s issues, substance use, trauma, depression, anxiety, anger management, and healthy lifestyle practices.
We start off by asking the most important question - what is it that brings you into treatment? In a perfect world - what would your life look like to you? Since therapy is a service provided to you, it is you - the client - who ultimately decides what direction you would like your treatment to take. I give people insight into my individualized approach and what my ‘style’ of therapy looks like. Towards the end of session - we discuss whether this is a good fit for the client and how they would like to proceed. I never take it personally if someone feels that they are looking for something different. I want every client to get the best care suited for them.
I am innovative in incorporating technology and visual aids in helping clients understand concepts that will help them in the long run. I accept my clients where they currently are in life without judgement. I want to help them figure out how they got here and where they would like to go. I am relatable because I am authentic, funny (so I think 😆), and I pull from my own life experiences to help me understand and connect to those of my clients. My clients feel that their struggles are heard in our sessions and that I am not ‘yes’ing’ them to sleep. They feel that I am truly in this with them - because I am.
I have worked with all genders and age groups coping with a range of unique challenges - all are welcome! I also connect well with young adult clients trying to find their path. I treat adult populations coping with substance use, depression, men’s issues, trauma, anger issues, anxiety, and much more. I am best positioned to serve any individual who is ready to take the next step in achieving the life they want for themselves.
I am formally trained and certified in the provision of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. I find it to be an excellent complementary therapy approach for those seeking an emotion-regulation element in treatment and for those who are seeking to live a life more in line with their values in order to find meaning in life.
I am a formally trained and certified CBT provider. CBT is a gold standard treatment modality for a great slew of symptoms that I work to help patients with; including depression, anxiety, anger, and substance use. I help address perceptions and behaviors that may be getting in the way of accomplishing one’s goals.
Cognitive Processing Therapy is a research-proven approach to the treatment of PTSD. This is a formal curriculum with weekly structured sessions. We perform this treatment in a way where we can explore trauma in a safe manner in order to give the person long lasting reduction in symptoms. People are able to get out there and start living their life again after CPT.

Had one session with Harrison. Great listener – I feel like he really understood my issues and what I was looking for. I appreciate that he was upfront about his therapy style and specialization as a therapist. In my case, he wasn't the right fit for what I was looking for, but I think he would be a great therapist for anyone specifically looking for help with a substance abuse issue.
