Hello! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker based in Illinois. I graduated with my Master's from Aurora University and have been practicing for four years. I work with clients of all ages to help them address whatever obstacles they are currently facing. I use a variety of therapeutic approaches to best support my client's needs and collaboratively work toward desired changes.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Let's first get to know you and what your current obstacles are. We can move at whatever pace feels comfortable and come up with a plan to work toward your desired goals.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I have a diverse background and have worked with a variety of ages and cultures, with experience in community mental health, suicide prevention, domestic violence, home health, and hospice.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I like to explore with my clients how certain beliefs and negative thought patterns may be making them feel stuck or unable to cope with whatever challenges they are currently facing. I help my clients explore other ways of thinking to help them feel better and more in control of their lives.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

I use mindfulness with my clients to help bring them back to the present moment and gain control over certain thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. We cannot always control what is going on around us or what happens to us, and mindfulness offers a way to refocus to the present, without judgment, and gives us a choice to respond differently than what we may be accustomed to.

Psychoeducation

It may sound cliche but knowledge is power! I help my clients gain a better understanding of their mental illness. My clients can utilize this knowledge to assist with problem-solving and choosing effective coping strategies.

Compassion Focused

I have often worked with clients who have a harsh inner critic. I help my clients slowly learn how to respond differently to themselves, to eventually reach a place of greater self-acceptance and compassion for who they are.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

In this non-directive approach, I provide a safe, nonjudgmental space, where my clients can explore whatever is coming up for them within a supportive environment. My clients will take the lead during appointments and I will help them grow through exploring their own experiences.
