Hi, I’m a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker with 36 years experience in individual, couples, and group therapy. I work with 20+ yr old adults to understand why they do the things they do and how to move toward narratives and responses that are more in alignment with our values and dreams. I live with depression, ADHD, and anxiety. I’m probably somewhere on the ASD spectrum, I’m a recovering alcoholic and a recovering anorexic.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Our first session will focus on what brings you to therapy, your history with those issues and how we can work toward your goals. I’ll answer any questions you have about me and how I work. And we’ll explore the strengths you have that we can draw on to enact your healing. I’m opposed to seeing the therapeutic relationship as hierarchical; I believe in using self disclosure to provide empathetic teaching examples. I call it ‘recovering out loud’.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I have 36 years of practice experience in multiple environments with many populations. I’m engaging, believe humor is healing, and a great memory which allows me to really know who you are and who you want to be. I tend to be popular with people who especially need the space to really be authentic without translating all experiences into pathology.

My treatment methods

Attachment-based

As a relational therapist it is my belief that addressing the experiences that have shaped our capacity to engage in relationships with self and others is a core part of mental wellness.

Trauma-Focused CBT

Whether it is perceived as ‘big T’ or ‘little t’ trauma, these experiences have shaped our personal narratives and limited our capacity to access agency and healing. Understanding the impact of those experiences, processing emotions connected to your trauma, and reshaping your coping responses to be aligned with your goals and values.

Internal Family Systems (IFS)

Internal family systems is a structured way to understand the who and why of our interactions with our lives. It provides a way to shift our power and ground our stories and our choices in the wisest part of Self.
