About me

Life does not always go according to plan and it sure can be messy sometimes. It is nice when you can be expressive and heard as you share your messiness. My name is Trish, I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and I am here to support you and encourage you through the 'messy'. I have been in the field for over 25 years guiding, supporting, and cheering on clients, couples, and families as they make way for change. My background is serving pediatrics to geriatrics. I have a passion for working with healthcare workers, Veterans of all ages, as well as first responders, and active military. As a mother of 5 children, I have both professional and personal knowledge of child development, family systems, and the complexity of family dynamics. I have an extensive background in grief work. Keeping in mind, grief is not just a death loss but any significant change in life that was unexpected, unplanned or did not go according to plans. My interactive, supportive style of therapy is built into creating a plan of care with solution-focused goals in a short-term treatment therapy formula to assist in making changes and improvements. Life gets messy that is for sure. However, when we have the necessary tools and support during those times, we are better equipped to embrace the big events and things don't feel or look as messy.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

This first visit is an opportunity to get to know one another and build rapport. It is important for you to be comfortable with your therapist. As therapists, we all have different clinical styles. I want you to feel comfortable with me and ensure I can meet your therapy needs. We will set goals and start a road map for your improved future.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I have become certified in intimate partner violence. This area of interest has become near and dear to me (both people using IPV and experiencing IPV). I truly am passionate about grief work. Helping others through difficult times in life and being present. In addition, having raised five children after a tragic ending to a marriage, I come to you with an ability to support single parenthood and the complexities of raising children on your own. I work daily with Veterans and have extensive knowledge of PTSD, discharging from service, and the unique needs of Veterans. Overall, the feedback I have received is I am a good listener and clients feel comfortable sharing with me. I hold space that is supportive, compassionate and empathetic to the client. I have been a social worker for more than thirty years (yikes!). I love being a Social Worker and I believe that shows in my work.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I work well as a change agent. Meaning, I connect as your therapist if you are motivated to change. You have come to GROW for a reason. I want you to grow. Therefore, working with individuals, families and couples that know they want to make changes and improvements and are ready to do so, are the ideal clients.

At the end of the day, you just want to remember that you're worth rooting for, too. In my first session alone, Trish helped me see that if I'm willing to do the work for me, I'll slowly discover there's been a much larger part of me that's been on my side all along.
