I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) and ATR-P working in IL. I received my masters in Counseling and Art Therapy from Adler University in Chicago and have been practicing in mental health since 2015. I really enjoy helping people of all ages to reduce shame towards themself, promote radical acceptance and gain deeper understanding of their own internal narratives.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we'll often start with soft conversation to better get to know eachother. I prioritize focusing on the relationship first to ensure there is a level of comfortability and farmiliarity before jumping into deeper topics. In the first session we will review goals you have for therapy and your past experiences if you have them in therapy.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

As a provider I have had a lot of personal life experiences with trauma, personality disorders, and gender. I feel attuned, open and curious to all people's experiences with truly meeting people where they are at. I have had great success in helping clients identity core content self narratives that impact barriers to building healthy coping skills, relationships, and sense of self identity and work to help clients reframe narratives that promote authenticity and success.

My treatment methods

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I utilize DBT in practice to help clients build distress tolerance skills and encourage ways to navigate relationships in a healthy and authentic way! I value DBT as a method, because of the emphasis on shame reduction and working to look at our emotions and experiences in a more tender way.

Trauma Informed Care

I have been a trauma informed clinician since the start of my practice. It helps contextualize how clients behaviors and self narratives stem from periods of trauma throughout their life and explore how to re-write the narratives we want to hold in the future.

Attachment-based

Attachment is at the core of our lived experiences as people. In sessions I utilize attachment theory frameworks and use the lens of what our attachment styles say about us to help increase positive and healthy interpersonal relationships. Gaining deeper insight and understanding into your own attachment style and how this interacts with others has helped clients to feel seen and understood.

Gender-affirming therapy

As a trans therapist, gender affirming therapy is at the forefront of helping to support clients identify and gain comfort with who they are in the world. Using this approach i've helped clients with writing letters to help gain access to gender affirming medical care as well as helping clients explore how social context impacts their lived experience.
