My treatment methods

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is a therapeutic approach I take that helps my clients embrace their thoughts and feelings, rather than fighting against them. The goal is to increase psychological flexibility, which allows people to live in a way that aligns with their values, even in the presence of difficult emotions. ACT integrates mindfulness and behavioral techniques to help my clients live more meaningful lives.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

What It Involves: One of the most commonly used approaches for depression is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). This therapy focuses on the connection between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. CBT helps identify negative thought patterns and beliefs that contribute to depression, such as self-criticism or pessimism, and works to replace them with healthier, more realistic ways of thinking. How It Helps: By changing negative thought patterns, you can change how you feel and behave, which can alleviate depressive symptoms. Over time, CBT helps you develop the skills to manage your thoughts independently, even outside of therapy.

Culturally Sensitive Therapy

Culturally sensitive therapy is a therapeutic approach that recognizes and respects the unique cultural, ethnic, religious, and social backgrounds of clients that I love to use. It involves adapting therapeutic techniques and strategies to be mindful of a client's cultural identity and values. I am aware of how culture influences thoughts, behaviors, and emotions, and I incorporate this understanding into the treatment process. Culturally sensitive therapy isn't about making assumptions based on a client's background; rather, it’s about understanding the client’s lived experience, respecting their worldview, and integrating cultural factors into the therapeutic process to provide more effective support.

Search no more I will never have enough good things to say about Crystal. I appreciate how personable she is while still offering solutions and advising next steps. Her guidance goes beyond emotional or mental health. She’s given me advice about career, education and family related matters. Highly recommend her! She’s a breath of fresh air and a soft landing space after trials of trying to find the right fit.
