Being a therapist is a huge responsibility that I do not take lightly. I know that being vulnerable in therapy can be a challenge. The change process can also be difficult. Having said that, I do this work because I have seen change and healing happen throughout my career. Before this process can begin, it is useful to know the underlying contributing factors to the problem (s); as those factors should influence therapy. It can be difficult to change something that you do not understand. As a therapist I feel it is important to say what I see. Confronting unwanted behaviors can leave one feeling exposed. These are times, however, can lead clients to change; and ultimately these moments come from a place of compassion and not judgment. Therapy can be a beautiful journey. Finding yourself is not simply reaching a particular destination. Paying attention to the personal development and change that happens along the way to reaching your goals – that is what is important.

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

My style is interactive, direct, and warm. I strive to create a space where we can reframe what we might perceive as obstacles, as opportunities for growth. I will hold you accountable for goals that you set for therapy. I will always challenge you to be open and honest with yourself. Together, we can uncover new ways in which to perceive yourself and the world around you. My ideal client is one that is ready to be present while we are together. Someone who is willing to be honest and open-minded about their struggles; in addition to finding different pathways and techniques to reach the goals that you have set for therapy.
