Hello! My name is Kim, I am Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) who have 9 years of experience working with adults and older adults in multiple settings by providing mental health and case management. My passion is working with adults and older adults population due to my belief that each of these individuals have the skill set and strength within them to overcome life's challenges. My goal is just to direct my clients back to working toward their goal of healing and inner peace. I feel that sometimes life take a detour, and I am the navigation system to help them back on track.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, we will get to know each other. I want to provide my client with an opportunity to express their feelings and why they are seeking therapy. By getting to know each other, I want to ensure that I will be a good match to provide my client the skill set they need to gain inner-peace, and mental stability.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Having experience working with clients in multiple settings, I am empathic and understanding with the difficulties that my clients experiences during different stages of life. I believe in helping my client regaining the strength, resources, and coping skills that they already have.

My treatment methods

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

The method that I use most in therapy is mindfulness and meditation. With this method, it allows for us to pause, breathe, and gain clarity. During the most stressed and challenging days or situations, our habitual pattern is to over-think leaving us with a fight or flight feeling. This way of reaction can be due to chronic trauma or adversity experienced. With mindfulness and meditation, I can guide clients to be more self aware through pausing before responding and to gain mental clarity. Through this, my goal is to help my client to increase connection with one-self and others.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

With the constant change in our society today, there can be a lot of stress and demands. These can be attainable or due to the "social expectation" the demands is unrealistic therefore causing increased stress leading to negative thoughts and problematic behaviors. Through therapy, I can help to strengthen one's relationship with one's self to open up for self-acceptance and healthy relationship building. I have helped my clients to question their thought, if it is healthy or is their thought process is something that is causing them increase distress. As a result, this has helped my client to address different struggles due to their thought process to improve self-esteem and relationships. This then decrease the amount of stress, anxiety, and anger that one experiences.
