Do you ever find yourself wanting to start a task, create something new, go to the gym for the first time in a long time or begin a new career path? The excitement of this builds, then suddenly your mind starts telling you the story you've heard before. "I can't do it." "I don't have time." "It will be too hard for me." "I'll never actually be able to do it." These thoughts can be crippling and stop us from reaching our goals as humans. I want to help alleviate these anxious thoughts and support you in living the life you truly want for yourself.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together we will go through a little introduction and then begin exploring the different issues or challenges you may have. We will then start developing your goals and formulate a treatment plan that will best help in reaching these goals.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Having worked in the field of dual diagnosis, meaning addiction/substance abuse and mental health, I have a wide range of skills working with many walks of life. I have worked with young adults, older adults and provided mental health care for veterans for almost a decade. Another additive to my practice is experience with bariatric/weight loss surgery. I am 4 years post-op. Though exciting, the mental and emotional changes are rapid and many struggle with the aftermath of weight loss surgery.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I feel it is important to help clients connect their thoughts, feelings and behaviors in order to better understand the "why?" We will then collaboratively work to reframe these thoughts in hopes the feelings and behaviors may shift in healthier ways.

Compassion Focused

Our minds are powerful, but I hope clients can understand that they are not to blame or criticize themselves for the symptoms they are experiencing. There are ways we can develop a more mindful way of confronting and expressing emotions in order to cultivate inner compassion and peace.

Eclectic

I will always specially tailor your treatment experience based on your needs. I can utilize a variety of methods.
