I have lived the majority of my life in the Bay Area where I completed my undergraduate work at Santa Clara University and obtained my doctorate degree at Alliant International University, California School of Professional Psychology in San Francisco. I am also a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) with extensive experience utilizing behavioral approaches in treatment. I specialized in working with children, adolescents and families, I've also worked with adults and have provided services to an integrated healthcare system for decades. I have specific interest in empowering families, identity development, pediatric feeding issues, autism care, mood disorders and healing from trauma. I have had the honor to work with a variety of populations, which has strengthened my commitment in providing compassionate, collaborative and patient centered care to the diverse individuals that I have had the privilege to work with.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
Our first session will consist of laying the foundations of therapy; discussing confidentiality, obtaining consent, expectations of treatment, addressing questions, establishing rapport, determining what you would like to achieve in our work together and starting the evaluation process.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
With over 20 years of clinical experience working in homes, schools, outpatient and the medical/hospital setting, I bring a depth of knowledge and skill to my work with individuals and families. I have had the privilege of working with people from diverse backgrounds and with a wide range of diagnoses, which has strengthened my ability to provide care that is both flexible and culturally responsive. My approach is rooted in compassion and respect, focusing on creating a supportive environment where clients feel safe, understood, and empowered to grow. I believe in tailoring treatment to each person's unique needs, fostering resilience, and helping clients move toward meaningful and lasting change.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I believe in the importance of identifying and acknowledging the unique abilities, strengths and resources that lie within each of us. These skills can then be harnessed as tools to manage the challenges that we may experience in our daily lives. I value the importance of establishing a trusting, respectful and collaborative atmosphere in treatment as an essential foundation in eliciting growth. I am currently focused on serving adult clients.
