PMHNP, 2 years of experience
Hi! I'm a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP) based in Georgia. I received my Masters from the Eastern Kentucky University and have been practicing for 2 years helping individuals across lifespan who are struggling with mental illnesses, to become the best versions of themselves. Prior to receiving my Masters, I have eleven years of experience as a psychiatric mental health registered nurse, working with child and adolescents, adults, and old adult with mental illness and substance abuse issue.
In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, discuss specific challenges you're facing. This will help me create an individualized treatment plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.
As a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner, my greatest strengths include: exceptional communication skills, deep empathy, a patient-centered approach to care, strong clinical judgment in diagnosing and treating mental health conditions, the ability to build strong therapeutic relationships, and a commitment to tailoring treatment plans to each individual patient's unique needs. These allow me to effectively assess, diagnose, and manage complex mental health concerns while fostering a supportive and trusting environment for my patients.
I love working with individuals across lifespan who have psychological concern, are eager to improve, and need help to become the best version of themselves.
As a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, I have extensive experience utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) in my practice, finding it to be a highly effective approach for addressing a wide range of mental health concerns like anxiety, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), and trauma in combination with medication management as needed.
I actively acknowledge and respect client's cultural background, beliefs, and experiences. I tailor my approach to ensure they feel heard, understood, and comfortable throughout my service. Finally, I avoid assumptions and I actively incorporate their cultural perspective into the therapeutic process.
As a practitioner, my experience with integrative treatment methods involves tailoring a unique approach for each client by combining elements from various therapeutic modalities, depending on their specific needs, to create a holistic healing plan that addresses not only their psychological concerns but also their physical and lifestyle factors; essentially, using the best aspects of different therapies to maximize positive outcome
With supportive therapy, I create a safe and validating space for clients to openly express their feelings, while actively listening and offering encouragement to help them navigate challenging situations, essentially acting as a supportive guide to build resilience and coping mechanisms rather than deep-diving into past trauma in every session.
