Hi, I'm Sonya Don't feel like yourself, struggling with life challenges, feeling overwhelmed, burnt out, relationships not going well, looking for some direction? There's Help! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in four states (Illinois, Georgia, Tennessee & Texas) and a Board-Certified Diplomate in Clinical Social Work. I have been a psychotherapist for over 15 years providing individual, couple, and group therapy for stress. depression, anxiety, trauma, grief & loss, and relationship challenges. I am enthusiastic about helping individuals and couples reconnect to what's important in their lives and restore balance. My style is motivational, collaborative, and interactive. You will experience a non-judgmental, caring, and compassionate environment. There will be times I will challenge you to move beyond your comfort zone, where growth and healing happens. I will meet you where you are and walk with you to your chosen wellness destination. Come walk this journey of growth and healing with me!

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In psychotherapy, you get out of it as much as you put into it. With this in mind, from the first session until the last session, you can expect to gain insight into your problems, learn ways to better manage stress, emotions, and relationships through developing healthy coping skills.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

My treatment methods are based in person-centered, goal-oriented, psychodynamic, cognitive behavioral therapy. I offer Evidenced Based Therapy. I am trained in various interventions, including but not limited to, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Client Centered Solution Focus Therapy, Mindfulness, Trauma Focused Narrative Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Prolonged Exposure (PE), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Depression (CBT-D), Problem Solving Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Integrative Behavioral Couples Therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy, Pastoral Counseling, and Wellness Recovery Action Planning.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My ability to encourage, motivate, and help clients gain insight and reach their goals for wellness is one of the greatest strengths of my practice.
