I believe that we all have resources within us that help us through life's difficulties and can also provide healing, but sometimes we need a little help and guidance on our way to get back on the path that is right for us. I want to help guide you back to this route and find a connection to your “Self” again, using an approach that is tailored to your individual needs. I specialize in working with individuals who struggle with eating disorders, trauma, grief, loss, LGBTQ+, HIV and AIDS, substance abuse, as well as, anxiety and depression/bipolar.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
In our first session, we will start with a brief introduction, and then dive into the specific challenges you're facing. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.
The treatment methods and tools I utilize
I practice a variety of approaches and techniques to help individuals address emotional, psychological, and behavioral issues. For example, I utilize EMDR, sensory-motor, IFS, DBT, DBT, art therapy, Gestalt and psycho drama.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
I have learned over the years how much clients appreciate my style of connecting on a deeper level. Using an eclectic approach has helped me tailor my skills to clients' needs/preferences. They find me to be relatable, compassionate, and skillful. Using depth-oriented approaches leaves clients with a profound sense of inner transformation.

After Kaiser provided me almost 2 years of therapy with marriage counselors WHEN MY SON DIED OF AN OVERDOSE and other therapists who had ZERO EXPERIENCES with grief or substance use disorder I found Katja. With her EMDR as well as substance use disorder experience her therapy has brought me to a better place where I thought I would never achieve. She gently pushes when need be and also allows me to have space when my anxiety has the best of me.
