I am a Licenced Professional Counselor (LPC) and Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor(LCDC-I). I have been working with clients from different settings; hospitals, school and clinical, and with clients dealing with a wide range of mental health issues. As someone with roots in South Asia, therapy is not just a profession for me; it is a true passion. I wholeheartedly believe in the transformative power of therapy and the potential it holds for individuals to become the best versions of themselves.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

The first session will be an open space for you to feel comfortable, acknowledged, heard, and trust in the therapy process. The session will be focused on gathering more information about yourself; present and past, and any questions that you are not comfortable opening up we will skip those questions respectfully. If you are seeking a therapist who will actively listen, provide a calm presence, and help you navigate through your challenges, I am here to support you. Remember, it's never too late to ask for help, and together, we can work towards your personal growth and wellbeing.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My goal of becoming a therapist came from my inner desire to help people in need of mental health help; guiding them in resolving those issues or at least making them be mindful of the issue’s impact they have on mental health and overall wellbeing. We, often, refrain from getting the help we need for many reasons, and in doing so we fail to seek the help we need and often forget that it’s never too late to ask for help. I am a therapist driven by a deep desire to help individuals in need of mental health support. My ultimate goal is to guide them in resolving their issues and cultivating mindfulness about the impact these issues have on their mental health and overall wellbeing. Throughout life, we often find ourselves hesitant to seek the help we truly need, for various reasons. However, I firmly believe that it is never too late to ask for help and reaching out can be the best thing we can do for ourselves. I find immense satisfaction in providing therapy and experiencing the intrinsic motivation that comes with assisting others. Witnessing the positive impact I can have on my clients' lives brings me a profound sense of fulfillment. Counseling is a passion of mine, as I genuinely enjoy being there for my clients and actively listening to their concerns. I believe that by offering a calm and patient presence, I can create a safe space for individuals to explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences. In my practice, I focus on addressing a range of mental health challenges such as anxiety, depression, self-esteem issues, traumas, and anger management. I believe in tailoring my approach to meet each individual's unique needs, ensuring that they receive personalized and effective support. With a multicultural background and exposure to various cultures, I bring a unique perspective to my therapy sessions. Additionally, I am fluent in multiple languages, allowing me to effectively communicate and connect with individuals from diverse backgrounds. Born and brought up in South Asia, I have exposure to a multicultural lifestyle, and as a result that will be a very strong point for me to widen my perspective and understand cultural appropriations as well.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

One of the key areas that we want to work on is identifying and challenging our negative ways of thinking, and one big way we do that using CBT.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

As a counselor, we want the client to feel acknowledged and understood, and provided with the non-judgemental space to open up. This helps us work together as a team and trust the process

Eclectic

The treatment for each client is different so we use a mixture of tools and techniques that matches the need of the client.

Psychoanalytic

Many of the issues we are dealing with have underlying roots in our past experiences and that is knowingly and unknowingly not confronted, so we use this tool to process those pasts.
