Hello! I am a licensed clinical psychologist based in Pennsylvania. I have a doctorate in clinical psychology, a master’s degree in clinical psychology, and an undergraduate degree in clinical/counseling psychology. I have been practicing for 10+ years at a variety of settings including community mental health, partial hospital, residential treatment, drug and alcohol rehabilitation, and private schools. Therapy is not one size fits all, and therefore I take an integrative approach designed to suit the needs of the unique individual, drawing from trauma-focused, cognitive behavioral, client-centered, and solution-focused techniques to meet your needs. I also enjoy incorporating creative techniques and mindfulness into my therapy.
In our first session, you can anticipate a warm and welcoming environment where we'll get to know each other. We'll discuss your reasons for seeking therapy, explore your goals, and establish a collaborative plan to ensure our future sessions are tailored to meet your unique needs and objectives.
As a psychologist, my greatest strengths lie in creating a safe and empathetic space for your exploration, utilizing evidence-based practices tailored to your unique needs, and fostering a collaborative therapeutic relationship aimed at empowering you to navigate challenges and achieve your goals. Anyone can find themselves in therapy at one time or another. Seeking mental health services is not a weakness or something to feel ashamed of but is, in fact, a healthy thing. I feel privileged that I can help someone when they are going through the worst times in their life, identify the root of a problem that has been plaguing them for years, and collaborate in finding solutions. I look forward to meeting you and helping you begin to take the first steps toward improving your life.
I enjoy working with a wide range of individuals who are ready to embark on a journey of self-improvement. My approach is all about creating a warm, understanding space where we can work together to address the unique challenges that each stage of life brings. Whether it's supporting teens through the turbulence of growing up, guiding young adults in their journey of self-discovery, or assisting adults in managing life's demands, I'm here to make the therapeutic process an enriching and positive experience for you.
EMDR, or Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, is a therapeutic technique designed to assist individuals in dealing with challenging memories, especially those tied to traumatic experiences. The primary objective is to lessen the emotional weight of these memories, encourage adaptive processing, and improve overall psychological well-being. This approach has proven particularly beneficial for individuals navigating post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). It's not limited to PTSD, though; EMDR has shown effectiveness in addressing various mental health conditions such as anxiety and depression. In our sessions, we'll explore these techniques together, aiming to alleviate the distress associated with difficult memories and enhance your overall mental health.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, or CBT, is a therapeutic approach that I often use to assist clients in understanding and transforming their thought patterns and behaviors. In our sessions, we'll work together to identify any negative or unhelpful thoughts that might be impacting your emotions and actions. By exploring these connections, we can develop practical strategies to change these patterns and promote a healthier mindset.
Humanistic therapy is a supportive and client-centered approach focused on understanding and nurturing your unique personal growth. In our sessions, the emphasis is on self-exploration, self-acceptance, and recognizing your inherent strengths. This approach encourages open dialogue, fostering a safe space for you to express yourself without judgment. As your psychologist, I will work collaboratively with you to explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences. The goal is to enhance self-awareness, promote personal development, and empower you to make positive choices aligned with your values. Humanistic therapy is versatile and can be effective for various concerns, from managing stress and anxiety to enhancing overall life satisfaction.
