LCMHC, 7 years of experience
Hi, I’m Caitie! If you’re experiencing anxiety, low mood, self-doubt, or finding it hard to adjust to life changes, I’m here to support you. Together, we can work toward rediscovering a calmer, happier version of yourself. I know reaching out for help can feel overwhelming. My goal is to make that first step feel a little easier by offering compassionate, nonjudgmental support in a safe space. Life’s challenges aren’t meant to be faced alone, and I would be honored to walk alongside you on your journey. My approach is to counseling is grounded in Dr. Carl Rogers’ Person-Centered Therapy, which values each individual’s unique story and focuses on creating a counseling experience tailored to your needs. I am especially passionate about working with teens and adults navigating anxiety, depression, and mood-related challenges. Whenever you’re ready to take the next step, I’d be grateful for the opportunity to support you in this chapter of your life. I look forward to connecting with you.
In our first session, you can expect to find a nonjudgmental space to share whatever you feel comfortable with sharing. I realize this will be your first time meeting with me, so my goal will be to help you feel safe and understood in this new space. I will ask you a few questions so that I can gather information about who you are, how things are going, who is in your support system, and what you might want to accomplish through your counseling journey.
I am passionate about working with teens and adults who are undergoing symptoms of anxiety, depression, mood disorders, and more.
My dream client is someone who is open to self-exploration, even if they feel nervous or uncertain. They don’t have to have everything figured out - just a willingness to be curious about themselves and to try new approaches. I value clients who are willing to share their experiences openly and honestly, even if it feels vulnerable. That honesty helps us build trust and make real progress together. My ideal client understands that counseling is a journey. They may not always feel motivated, but they’re willing to show up and engage in the process. My dream client sees therapy as a partnership - we work together to identify goals, build skills, and create change. I bring my expertise, and they bring their lived experience. They don’t need to come in "put together" or with the right words. I appreciate clients who come as they are, even on their hardest days.
CBT, or Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, is a type of counseling that helps us understand how our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are connected. The idea is that the way we think about things can influence how we feel, and that can affect what we do. Sometimes our thoughts can become negative or unhelpful, and that can keep us feeling stuck. In CBT, we work together to notice those patterns and learn healthier, more balanced ways of thinking. We can also practice new behaviors or coping strategies so you can feel more in control of your emotions and reactions.
Available upon request from client: Christian counseling is counseling that integrates psychological approaches with Christian faith and practice. It looks at emotional, relational, and spiritual aspects of life, that uses both evidence-based counseling methods and biblical principles to support healing and growth. The focus is on addressing concerns while also strengthening your relationship with God, if that is something that is important to you. The approach is still professional and ethical, while honoring faith.
Person-Centered/Rogerian Counseling is an approach that focuses on you as the expert of your own life. Instead of giving advice or directing the process, I provide a supportive and nonjudgemental space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings openly. The idea is that when you feel truly understood and accepted, you naturally move toward growth, healing, and positive change.
