Person-centered (Rogerian)

I approach counseling from the Person-Centered approach. This therapy is a short-term therapy (5-10 months) that involves a hands-on approach to problem solving for client issues. This therapy is goal-oriented and helps clients achieve greater independence, which will allow the client to better cope with current and future problems. The goal is for the client to become open to experience, learn to trust themselves, develop internal evaluation of themselves and have a willingness to change. It’s used to treat a wide range of issues such as low mood, anxiety ,grief, relationship problems, transition in life ,addiction, anger issues and/or sexuality .
