Welcome! My name is Wayne Young, LCSW-C. I specialize in treating: trauma, ADHD, depression, mood disorders, and family conflict. I am excited to begin working with you to help you become a healthier version of yourself!
What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?
You can expect to be welcomed into a warm and judgment free environment: in your initial session we will go over the following: 1) What’s encouraging you to come to therapy? 2) A brief history of your symptoms and other pertinent information 3)What has worked in the past? Have ever been to therapy before? 4)What are your short term and long term goals for therapy? These are just a few topics to think about prior to your session. I am proud of you for making a decision to start healing!
Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.
My strength as your clinician lies in my ability to use empathy and evidenced based practices to help you achieve your goals! I believe that human connection and relationship are the corner stone of our work together!

Trauma-Focused CBT
Using trauma focused cognitive behavioral therapy I am able to aid clients by using traditional cognitive behavioral therapy techniques to identify negative thought patterns and be able to connect to them to emotions and behaviors. I am able to use a trauma informed lens and prepare clients who have experienced trauma by doing coping skill development training to equip them with the tools needed to address the trauma along with addressing negative thinking patterns that are result of the trauma.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
Using cognitive behavioral therapy, I can aid clients by educating on concepts related to thinking patterns and the connections between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Clients can learn how to challenge these negative thoughts, learn practical self-regulation skills, and modify undesirable behaviors.
