Life can be very hard and extremely unfair. In today's world, almost everyone is dealing with anxiety, depression or both. Discovering what lies behind those responses is crucial. How do you deal with that and create the best life that you can have? Are your obstacles, difficulties or habits keeping you down? If so, I believe that we can work together to overcome the obstacles, the deal with the difficulties and create new habits that will be more beneficial for you. I want to empower you to feel better about your situation and to be in more control of it. I spent 5 years teaching middle school and then 18 years teaching high school along my journey to being a Licensed Professional Counselor. My wife and I married in 1984 and raised 3 children. I was raised in a dysfunctional household. I have a lot of life experience to bring to the table in assisting you.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Our first session together will be spent building trust and rapport. It is important for you to know and trust me. I want to know about what it is that brings you in to want to speak with me. What is it that you are dealing with? Only after I understand that can you begin the journey to having a better life.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I have the ability to connect with people. I have this innate desire to help, care for and take care of people.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Often our feelings run ahead of our decisions, if we have made any decisions. Learning to take control by making decisions can be a great help in controlling our emotions or minimizing the affect that feelings can have on our daily life.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

I believe that you play an important role in overcoming the difficulties that you are dealing with. Your thoughts, feelings and ideas all impact your ability to deal with the difficulties in life. Together, we will develop responses, that fit you to respond to the difficulties that you are facing.

Existential

Focusing on the hear and now. The ability to stay in today and not get ahead of yourself is so important. This is especially true when dealing with anxiety and depression.
