LCSW, 10 years of experience
Hello, I'm Erika! Step into my office. I'm so happy you're here. What makes you feel alive today? Let's check in with YOU. This confidential therapy space and time is dedicated to you and a place where you can relax and be yourself. It's an opportunity to slow down and make some needed adjustments. I work with individuals and couples that struggle with LGBT issues, intimacy-related issues, self-esteem, career difficulties, depression, anxiety, compassion fatigue, family issues, life issues, post-traumatic stress, self-love and sexuality. I am an LGBTQ2S+ affirming therapist and support transgender and gender-questioning clients. Therapy can be a deep, powerful and collaborative experience with professional guidance. I bring a warm but challenging approach to the work. Guiding you to your own answers and helping you put language to complex memories, feelings or thoughts.
Our first two sessions will be getting a history from you and helping you identify goals. It will be a time for me to ask clarifying questions and explore goals for your treatment plan. We will establish 2-3 goals to work on for your care. I will make a recommendation for sessions based on our consultation and intake together!
Emotionally Focused Therapy, Strength Based, Spiritual Exploration, Solution based, Grounding
My therapeutic style is based on respect, safety and connection, empathy and curiosity. I believe we each have a collection of stories that make us different. I want to help you work through tough feelings and fears. Come as you are, make yourself comfortable and just be you. I like to provide lots of education and sometimes check ins to ensure you are feeling supported. I'll help you gain back some energy that might have been lost through stress or overwhelm. Finding a balance is something I'm always working on too. You'll get to work on decision making and lean into your intuition. You are the expert here! If I'm not working I'm usually trying to recharge by doing something creative, being a mama, tending to my plants, watching a documentary, listening to an audio book, being in nature, thrifting, doing a DIY project or hanging out with my dog Birdie. I'm my best self when I can find ways to feel free and energetic. Client feedback includes: approachable, warm, thought provoking, kind, empathetic.
I tend to attract clients that are prepared for deep exploration and open to a therapeutic challenge. I only work with adults at this time typically adults that are struggling with transitions, routine, lifestyle changes and have a general curiosity about aspects of their personal life.
