LMFT, 4 years of experience
Hi, I’m Jamie Pimentel—welcome to Your Therapy Café. I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, licensed in California and Montana, specializing in treating OCD and anxiety disorders. I work primarily with women in their 20s, 30s, and 40s who are tired of living in constant overdrive—overthinking every decision, feeling trapped in anxiety, or stuck in the exhausting cycle of OCD. These decades can bring exciting changes but also intense pressure, perfectionism, and self-doubt. My role is to help you navigate it all with more ease, clarity, and confidence. This work is deeply personal to me. I know from lived experience how intrusive thoughts and overwhelming fears can take over your days and steal your peace of mind. That’s why I’m so passionate about creating a safe, nonjudgmental space where you can talk about anything—even the thoughts you’ve never said out loud. Using proven approaches like ERP, CBT, and ACT, I help my clients quiet the mental noise, break free from compulsions, and build the tools they need to feel calmer, more grounded, and back in control of their lives. You don’t have to do this alone—there is a path forward.
I know starting therapy—especially for OCD or anxiety—can feel intimidating. In our first session, my focus is on creating a space where you feel safe, understood, and not judged. We’ll begin with a casual conversation about what brought you here and what’s been weighing on you lately. You don’t have to have everything figured out or know exactly what to say—my job is to guide the conversation and help you put your thoughts into words. I’ll ask questions to get a better understanding of your experiences, symptoms, and goals. We might talk about what anxiety or OCD looks like for you day-to-day, how it’s affecting your life, and what you’ve already tried to cope. We’ll also go over how I work—whether that’s ERP for OCD, CBT for challenging anxious thoughts, or ACT for creating more space between you and your worries—so you have a clear idea of what therapy will look like moving forward. By the end of the session, we’ll set some initial goals together and make a plan for our next steps. My hope is that you leave feeling heard, supported, and a little lighter, knowing you don’t have to manage this alone anymore.

My ideal client is a woman in her 20s, 30s, or 40s who feels like anxiety—or OCD—is running the show. She’s smart, capable, and hardworking, but her mind never seems to take a break. She’s constantly overthinking, second-guessing herself, and battling intrusive thoughts that leave her feeling drained. She might be navigating big life transitions—building a career, starting a family, or redefining her path—and on the outside she seems “put together,” but inside she’s overwhelmed, stuck in cycles of worry, perfectionism, or compulsions. She’s ready for change. She’s tired of anxiety dictating her choices and wants to feel calmer, more confident, and more in control. She’s willing to show up, do the work, and try evidence-based strategies like ERP, CBT, and ACT—especially if it means finding lasting relief and peace of mind. I’m here for the women who are ready to break free from constant mental overdrive and finally feel at home in their own minds.
I specialize in OCD and ERP. I utilize ERP as a primary treatment method to treat Anxiety Disorders and OCD. It is the gold standard treatment for OCD. ERP gradually exposes someone with OCD to their feared situations or triggers, while simultaneously teaching you to resist your compulsive behaviors (response prevention).
I have been utilize CBT method for over 4 years now. I actively work with you to identify and challenge any negative thought patterns, then teaching strategies to replace those thoughts with more helpful ones, ultimately aiming to change your behaviors and improve your emotional well-being by addressing the connection between thoughts, feelings, and actions.
Here’s where I take it a step further — I integrate Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) into my ERP work. ACT helps you: Make space for uncomfortable thoughts and feelings without trying to fight or eliminate them. Clarify your values, so you know what truly matters in your life beyond anxiety’s demands. Take committed action toward those values, even when anxiety is present. By combining ERP’s structured exposure process with ACT’s focus on acceptance, mindfulness, and values-based living, you’re not just reducing symptoms — you’re building a life where anxiety no longer calls the shots. It’s not about making anxiety disappear. It’s about learning: “I can feel this and still live the life I want.”
