About me

Hi my name is Jamie Pimentel and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family therapist. This is where your mind can finally exhale. specialize in treating OCD, Anxiety and Trauma. Do you ever feel like your brain just won’t turn off? I help adults in their 20s, 30s, and 40s who are tired of living in constant overdrive — overthinking every decision, feeling trapped in anxiety, or stuck in the exhausting loop of OCD. Life can feel like one long to-do list of mental what-ifs, but you don’t have to navigate it alone. Sometimes anxiety runs deeper — rooted in experiences your body and mind are still carrying. I also specialize in helping adults heal from past trauma, attachment wounds, and emotional overwhelm that continue to shape how they feel.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

I know starting therapy—especially for OCD or anxiety—can feel intimidating. In our first session, my focus is on creating a space where you feel safe, understood, and not judged. We’ll begin with a casual conversation about what brought you here and what’s been weighing on you lately. You don’t have to have everything figured out or know exactly what to say—my job is to guide the conversation and help you put your thoughts into words. I’ll ask questions to get a better understanding of your experiences, symptoms, and goals. We might talk about what anxiety, trauma or OCD looks like for you day-to-day, how it’s affecting your life, and what you’ve already tried to cope. You can expect therapy to move at your own pace, in a safe and compassionate space. This is a judgment-free zone where you can share openly about your fears, experiences, and pain without worry of shame or misunderstanding. I understand the tricky patterns of anxiety and OCD, and I also hold space for the impact of trauma—honoring your story and your body’s wisdom. In this space, you’re seen for who you truly are, not who OCD, anxiety, or past pain try to convince you to be.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My greatest strengths as a therapist are my warmth, authenticity, and ability to help clients feel safe opening up about the things they’ve never said out loud. I bring a balance of compassion and gentle challenge, helping clients feel seen while guiding them toward meaningful growth. My deep understanding of OCD, anxiety, and trauma allows me to offer evidence-based tools with empathy and flexibility—meeting each person where they are and helping them rediscover confidence, calm, and trust in themselves.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My ideal client is an adult who feels stuck in cycles of overthinking, fear, or self-doubt—someone who may look composed on the outside but feels overwhelmed inside. They might be navigating OCD, anxiety, or the lasting impact of trauma and are ready to better understand themselves and find relief. My clients value authenticity, curiosity, and growth. Together, we create a safe, nonjudgmental space to slow down, heal old patterns, and build a sense of calm, confidence, and self-trust that lasts.

My treatment methods

Exposure Response Prevention (ERP)

I specialize in OCD and ERP. I utilize ERP as a primary treatment method to treat Anxiety Disorders and OCD. It is the gold standard treatment for OCD. ERP gradually exposes someone with OCD to their feared situations or triggers, while simultaneously teaching you to resist your compulsive behaviors (response prevention).

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have been utilize CBT method for over 4 years now. I actively work with you to identify and challenge any negative thought patterns, then teaching strategies to replace those thoughts with more helpful ones, ultimately aiming to change your behaviors and improve your emotional well-being by addressing the connection between thoughts, feelings, and actions.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

Here’s where I take it a step further — I integrate Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) into my ERP work. ACT helps you: Make space for uncomfortable thoughts and feelings without trying to fight or eliminate them. Clarify your values, so you know what truly matters in your life beyond anxiety’s demands. Take committed action toward those values, even when anxiety is present. By combining ERP’s structured exposure process with ACT’s focus on acceptance, mindfulness, and values-based living, you’re not just reducing symptoms — you’re building a life where anxiety no longer calls the shots. It’s not about making anxiety disappear. It’s about learning: “I can feel this and still live the life I want.”

Somatic

I am trained in Somatic Therapy, an approach that helps clients heal trauma by reconnecting the mind and body. Through gentle awareness of physical sensations, we work to release stored tension and regulate the nervous system. Many clients find this approach especially helpful when words alone can’t capture their experience. In our sessions, I integrate somatic techniques alongside EMDR and IFS (if appropriate) to create a safe, embodied path toward healing—helping you rebuild a sense of safety, self-trust, and calm within your body.
