However, with insight into past relationships and experiences, many people can make progress immediately toward overcoming these difficulties and becoming more effective in their work and relationships. I am a licensed clinician with 20 years of experience helping individuals achieve a more fulfilling life.

Hi, I’m Lisa. You know that cartoon of the little dog at the kitchen table sipping coffee while the house burns around him? Is that you? Have you been saying, “This is fine, this is OK” for way too long? Whether you’re dealing with depression, anxiety, or overwhelming stress; if something happened to you that’s making life hurt; if you feel your house is on fire and it’s just not “fine” anymore – I am here to listen and to help. You will find in me warmth, compassion, and an ability to truly listen until you know you’ve been understood. I will also bring to you everything I have learned in over 7 years of working with clients who experience trauma, depression, and anxiety. Together, we will explore where you’re coming from, set our sights on where you’d like to go, and then build a plan to get you there. We will use evidence-based practices to strengthen what’s already strong in you, heal what hurts, and create new ways to thrive. Seeking therapy can feel scary, but I’m about as frightening as a nerdy baby duck. Whatever you’ve been dealing with, we’ve got it. Together, we’ll work me out of a job. You are strong enough, you are smart enough, and my favorite moment is when my clients say, “Yeah, I think I’m good now.”

I am an LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker) with experience in working with adults and children from in-patient as well as out-patient settings. I have worked with teenagers and young children for over 10 years. I specialize in working with children with trauma, anxiety, and depression. I have a heart for working with kids and teens with traumatic experiences. My passion began while I was still in high school and wanted to be a teacher. I worked in various daycare facilities as well as having my own in-home daycare and decided I wanted to help kids (and adults) in a more in-depth manner. That is when I began my journey into social work and found my true calling in life. I have experience working with children and adolescents who have been through, or are currently in, the child welfare system as well as working with older teens with substance abuse/misuse issues.

"There can be no transforming of darkness into light ... without emotion." -Jung Emotional Intelligence (EI) is the core of my training. It embraces the belief systems of the past that affect your present. It's a state-of-mind that defines thinking that affects emotional awareness. To become aware is not to change, but to understand and accept. Carrying guilt or shame of the past, triggers the conflict of now. I don't offer advice - I offer choices - a chance to choose your own method of healing that fits you - not something others feel 'should' be. Come. Sit. Talk. Let's wander your path together. I would love to team up and help you become your best self!

I have been practicing as a clinical social worker for over thirty years and I have never gotten bored or tired or even considered doing anything else. I am originally from New York State and got my bachelor's degree in English literature at NYU. I took some time off to travel and then settled in Houston, Texas and got my master's degree from the University of Houston. I had extensive psychoanalysis to heal my own wounds prior to becoming a therapist and, after being licensed, I became a therapist, then clinical director, of a psychiatric day treatment center. After about seven years I opened my own private practice office where I saw clients in the evening and, during the daytime, I saw clients who were referred to me for treatment in several independent living and nursing facilities, and at a residential treatment center for adults with schizophrenia and other major mental illness. Since coming to Ohio five years ago I have been in private practice and signed up with Grow Therapy in August of 2023.

It is such a gift to be trusted by clients and to work together with a sense of safety. I act as a catalyst for change, growth and transformation. I specialize in lesbian/ gay/bisexual/transgender issues, family/interpersonal relationships, chronic/ terminal illnesses, generalized anxiety disorders, bipolar, depression, and trauma. At age 24, I was faced with my own mortality which propelled me on a personal journey of healing and self-discovery. As a result, I am grateful to live each day to the fullest, cherishing every moment. I integrate holistic healing modalities that focus on the mind-body connection including relaxation/stress reduction techniques, guided imagery, visualization, meditation, somatic practices, incorporating polyvagal theory, QiGong, Reiki, pet therapy, creative arts, and movement techniques. For me, the therapeutic process is a learning process, one of exploration and healing. The client is the expert in his/her/their experience. I am here to guide you, to help you reach your goals, and to live a meaningful and fulfilling life.

I am licensed independent social worker in the state of Ohio with a supervisory designation (LISW-S). I began working with the severe and mentally ill population within a homeless shelter at age 21. I discovered a love for helping and decided to pursue a career as a clinical psychotherapist. I obtained a degree from the University of Toledo with Master of Social Work, specializing in clinical mental health and a minor in psychology. Throughout the years I have gained experience working in a variety of setting addressing mental health. The settings include dialysis clinics, military, chronic homelessness, and corrections. Rather you are struggling with a new onset of neurosis, or your long-term symptoms have begun to exacerbate; I will ensure there is a safe space to discuss any problems in a judgement free zone utilizing individualized specific treatment plans, not simple advice. I will utilize a variety of approaches to empower you with tools needed to take significant life steps. Ultimately, to reach a goal you desire.
