Hi, welcome! My name is Sophie. I am a LMHC in the state of Florida and a LPCC in Ohio. My goal is to be a level sounding board and safe place for you! I work collaboratively with my clients to meet their goals. It is so important to feel heard and validated. My hope is to provide that for you. I hope to make you feel empowered through our work together. I know it is not always easy to ask for help, you are so brave for doing so. I received a BA in Psychology and a M.Ed. in rehabilitation counseling and mental health counseling from FAU. I love working with all people. My interests include: mood disorders, anxiety, OCD, chronic pain, fertility issues/women’s health, relationship/family issues and trauma. I have chosen to work virtually moving forward, I will be available for sessions Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM Eastern Standard Time. I love to help people and I would love to see if we would be a good fit to work together! If you don’t see a day/time that fits your schedule please feel free to reach out and I will try to accommodate!
In our first session, we will spend time getting to know one another. We will discuss what has brought you to therapy, your expectations of therapy and set some goals for sessions moving forward. I will also answer any questions at this time for you if you have them :)
I believe that each of us is truly unique and individualistic. We must be treated as such. I will never make the same treatment plan for two people. I am extremely collaborative with my clients as well. I will provide homework if you AGREE to complete the assignments. I am big on you believing in what we are doing. I love setting goals with my clients and watching them get achieved. I hold a safe space for all humans in my practice.
Cognitive behavioral therapy is one of the most diverse modalities. I often use cognitive behavioral therapy. I will usually provide homework having to do with the concepts we have learned during our sessions.
I have worked with extremely diverse populations. I do my best to have an understanding based upon the person's upbringing and culture. I remain teachable so that I can best help my clients.
I like using multiple modalities, this is one of my favorite modalities. I use empty chair, letter writing, and other types of activities
I am big on teaching my clients mindfulness and meditation techniques
I have been trained and utilize some parts of it virtually but do not practice fully virtual.
