What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

During our initial counseling session, we will talk about the reasons for your interest in seeking counseling. I will ask you about your background, daily routine, and emotions in order to gain a comprehensive understanding of your circumstances. It is natural to experience some apprehension, but please rest assured that I am here to provide a nonjudgmental listening ear. Additionally, we may explore your therapy objectives and establish a framework for upcoming sessions. I am also open to answering any questions about the process.

Listening well and making people feel comfortable and heard is one of my greatest strengths as a counselor.

Each client is unique; once I have the opportunity to learn more about you and what brought you to counseling, we can decide which methods work best for you. I use a lot of person-centered counseling and psycho-education I am also a big proponent of psycho-education and will send or recommend handouts, worksheets, podcasts, videos, books, and anything else I find that I think will be helpful to work through your concerns as well as meet your goals.
