I've been a therapist dedicated to supporting diverse communities for over a decade. My firsthand experience with the foster care system, along with my own identity as a member of the LGBTQ+ community, shapes my approach to therapy. I understand the unique challenges of navigating different cultures, family structures, and personal identities. In my sessions, expect a touch of... quirkiness. I bring a lot of humor into my sessions because sometimes you need to be able to laugh at the dark.

Hello! I am a Licensed Marriage Family Therapist (LMFT) with EMDR training, a Psychodynamic approach while tying in a Mindfulness focus to specifically treat individuals in California. I have worked in this field since 2015 in various behavioral and mental health clinics, along with all levels of recovery treatment centers with addiction and dual diagnoses. I’m currently in schooling for my Doctorate in General Psychology with a Counseling specialization. Upon completion, I intend to continue teaching at the community college level of education where I had found my passion and made my career choices, in which I hope to provide the same support and guidance with prospective students. I spend much of my free time with family and friends, dancing, reading, and traveling to new places near and far. All of which I look forward to integrating such activities, like or unlike these, within our therapy work together to better support your healing journey.

I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker providing psychotherapy services in California and Rhode Island (LCSW / LICSW). My expertise encompasses anxiety, depression, grief, relational challenges, major life transitions, adjusting to difficult health diagnoses, and trauma processing. In my work with clients, I prioritize building a collaborative partnership that cultivates compassion, respect, self-esteem, and resilience. As a United States Veteran with extensive deployment experience, I am highly attuned to the stressors of Military and Veteran life. My specialization lies in treating individuals grappling with the effects of past physical, emotional, or combat-related trauma. Trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) through EMDRIA; I am dedicated to creating a nonjudgmental and supportive therapeutic environment. My passion as a mental health clinician is deliberate: to guide you authentically and effectively on your wellness journey. I firmly believe that regardless of one's experiences, individuals have control over how they narrate their lives. My goal is to assist you in discovering and embracing your true self. Recognizing the unique nature of each person's path to recovery, I create custom treatment plans designed to reduce symptoms and stabilize mood through a comprehensive mental health model addressing the physical, mental, emotional, and physiological aspects of each client. My ultimate desire is to help you realize that long-term change is not only possible but also sustainable through intentional and consistent efforts. Learning to identify triggers for negative thoughts and beliefs empowers you to regain control of your life and infuse it with new meaning. To me, the essence of therapy lies in reconditioning maladaptive perspectives, building emotional intelligence, and providing guidance on navigating life circumstances. Through conscious and continual effort, you will develop adaptive coping skills, allowing you to manifest the very best version of yourself each day. The therapist-client relationship is unique, serving as the foundation for change and the stage for healing. Reaching out for assistance is a courageous first step toward healing and growth. I welcome the opportunity to speak with you, offering support in reaching your goals and navigating your struggles. Book an appointment with me today.

If someone asked you not to think for 10 minutes how hard would that be? Is overthinking about the “What Ifs” driving you to relentlessly check things over and over again? Are you determined to find certainty in an uncertain world? Do you frequently ask others repeatedly if something or someone is going to be OK? No matter how much you do a task or say a particular thing does peace of mind elude you? Does the compulsion to handwash, re-read, double check, pray, or re-arrange items never provide lasting relief? Do you find yourself burdened by intrusive thoughts that strike against your will and preoccupy your mind for hours a day? OCD is characterized by unabating obsessions matched with intense mental or behavioral rituals to relieve the anxiety provoked. It is not treated by “talk therapy” but with Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP). Through customized gradual exposures, ERP is an evidence-based method of intervention to reduce the severity of OCD symptoms. ERP is a collaborative and creative approach to learning new skills and strategies to become comfortable with uncertainty and more confident in your ability to handle life’s unexpected challenges. My style is compassionate, client centered, and culturally sensitive. What to do if you’re nervous about sharing your thoughts with me in therapy? If you're too embarrassed to share something, you can write it down, you can use visuals, you can type it. We can work around this to find other ways that you can deliver the communication. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in California, Hawaii, Indiana, Massachusetts, Nevada and Virginia. Registered Out-of-State Telehealth Provider in Florida, South Carolina, and Vermont. My treatment focus is on neurodivergent issues, gifted learners, managing life transitions, women’s mental health issues around shifting roles in family and career, and immigration/re-entry adjustment stressors.
