Hi I'm Ingrid an LMFT based in L.A. CA. I graduated from Pacific Oaks College in Pasadena. I've been in the field for the last 20 years. I have helped Individuals, families, children and adolescents who are struggling with depression, loss and anxiety. It is important that my Clients feel safe and heard to discuss their obstacles. My preferred treatment method is CBT Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I’ve used CBT in my practice It’s helped dozens of clients challenge reoccurring thoughts and manage their anxiety. We’ll use CBT to recognize how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors influence each other. We’ll then use that knowledge to change your thinking patterns, which will help you lead a less anxious and stressed life.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session we will start with brief intros, and I will ask what your challenges are so that we together can identify your challenges and goals - where you want your life to be a month, six months, a year from now. Then, we'll identify options and strategies you can use to get there. You'll leave the session with a better understanding of what you're facing with an "actions I can take right now" approach. There will always be room for suggestions concerning our work together, including keeping each other accountable.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Having worked with different ages and backgrounds, I've found that being present, authentic and collaborating with clients in their journey are my greatest strengths. These strengths are helpful in (a) identify the root cause of your challenges and (b) create a plan that works for you.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have found that using CBT works really well with clients who are dealing with depression, social anxiety, trauma or loss who are having difficulties coping day to day. I find that using CBT lends itself for Clients to manage and modify their negative thoughts, learn how to accurately assess situations and overall have more confidence in their daily life.

Structural Family Therapy

Family Therapy, I find is very helpful for families experiencing stressful times during different stages of their lives. The goal is to improve communication and interactions among family members as well as having appropriate boundaries to create a healthier family structure

Eclectic

I know that each person is a unique individual and has unique needs in therapy that might need more than one approach ortechinque to therapy. I find that having experience with different modalities, and evidenced based practices this gives me more tools to work with, for better outcomes.
