Welcome! My name is Kimberly Melcon, MA, LMFT, #88001 . I have worked in the mental health field for over 21 years, I earned an MA in Psychology from Phillips Graduate Institute and an MA in Educational Psychology and Counseling from California State University Northridge. I have a passion for treating individuals who struggle with Eating Disorders, depression, anxiety.I have over 9 years of treating Eating Disorders at various levels of care including Residential (RTC), Partial Hospitalization (PHP), Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), Outpatient and community support groups.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

During a first session with me, you can expect a full assessment as I do need to get to know you. You will also have the opportunity to ask me questions that are important for you to be comfortable in our work together. Together we will establish goals. You are the expert of your life. You have made the decision to seek support and together we will collaborate on what you feel is important to focus on. In each session we will check in on goals and re-evaluate as needed.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

I am an eclectic therapist. I believe it is important to use various treatment modalities in order to meet the needs of a client. I use the following methods: Person-Centered DBT CBT Solution Focused

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My communication style is compassionate, understanding and also directive when needed. I do not shy away from the difficult questions that may need to be asked in order to work through barriers.
