Hello Beautiful, Congratulations in taking this step in your therapeutic journey. My name is Tamitha and I am a Licensed Psychotherapist, Holistic Healer and the founder of Hello Beautiful Therapy. Do you feel pulled in a million and one different directions? Are you struggling to keep up with your relationships, work, or health? Is it hard to be kind to yourself? If you answered yes to any of the questions, I am excited to connect with you. I help women and couples manage anxiety and avoid feeling defeated. I have a bachelor's degree in social work from Howard University; a master’s degree in social work from Virginia Commonwealth University; and a bachelor’s degree in Metaphysics from the University of Sedona. Having over 30 years of professional clinical experience and working with those managing conflict and trauma has equipped me to help you identify what is not working and get you to your state of balance. We will use a whole-person approach, addressing the needs of your mind, body, and spirit. I integrate talking, mindfulness and getting aligned to how your body feels to help you develop a stronger relationship with yourself. I love mixing body movement work and conversation to get to the root of your struggles. Whether you are dealing with feeling overwhelmed, relationship issues or cycles of anxiety and depression, I am here to help. Seeking therapy can feel scary, but you are making the right choice and have taken the first step. You deserve a safe space to heal and grow. In our sessions together, I will meet you with compassion and evidence-based techniques so you can face the challenges and habits that are holding you back. Let’s work together.
What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?
Personal and professional experiences have shown me that life is about transitions with some being more difficult to navigate than others. My focus is to provide an authentic, safe, affirming, and compassionate space to help you navigate through challenges and to create balance. I see you as the expert of your life with unique strengths and needs; my help is aimed at building healthy ways for you to think and respond by taking intentional actions based on motivation and not fear. We use strategies such as conversation, worksheets, mindfulness, grounding exercises and check-ins between sessions. I look forward to helping you reach your identified goals leading to the balance you desire with an abundance mindset.
What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?
The treatment methods and tools I utilize during our sessions are based on your identified needs (Person Centered). My areas of knowledge, experience and expertise include: Solution Focused Brief Therapy; Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT); Acceptance and Commitment Therapy; Psychoeducation; Motivational Interviewing; and Somatic Therapy ie: Meditation, Breathing Exercises, and other forms of body movement. I also incorporate worksheets and activities so that you can be fully engaged in your change process even while utilizing the virtual platform.
Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.
It is my belief that we are all beautifully created and when we are unbalanced or not have a sense of peace; realignment can occur from a Holistic approach when we address our mind, body and spirit. My counseling style is pretty laid back. I have been described as supportive, caring, and compassionate, with a pretty good sense of humor. I like to focus on identifying your strengths and helping you to maximize them to overcome your obstacles. My niche is being of service to Women of Color and Women in the LGBTQ community as we navigate through this ....... "If I could take all my parts with me when I go somewhere, and not have to say to one of them, 'No you stay home tonight, you won't be welcome,'....... The day all of the different parts of me can come along, we would have what I would call a revolution." (Pat Parker)
