Nancy Juila is fully booked.
Hi! I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in Maryland, where I was initially licensed. I have also been licensed in 9 other states (AZ, CO, IA, ID, NE, NV, VA, UT, WI). I have been actively working as a mental health therapist for 15 years. I have been helping adults with anger issues, adults who want to gain coping skills and strategies, discussing different perspectives and insights toward self, relationships with others, and their situations. I have been working with adults with existential crises, issues with motivation, low self-confidence, and communication challenges effectively. Additionally, I like working with older adults and adults who are going through phase of life changes. ***Due to my externship hours, my availability is extremely limited. If you feel that I could be a good fit for you but scheduling was a problem, please reach out to me; we can explore options. I apologize for the inconvenience.
What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?
In my therapy sessions, I focus on establishing a therapeutic working relationship first and it is the most important step; it starts when you and I meet for the first time for the intake interview. I try to understand your lived experiences and perspective and would like to identify what you want to accomplish in therapy (by talking to a therapist). I also focus on having authentic experiences in each therapy session; I believe that we are sharing the therapy time together. We get through whatever you bring in therapy together and I talk about it. I encourage you to be in touch with your feelings and thoughts in order to manage your behavior. I will ask you what you would like to focus on at the end of each session, and I would like to follow up on it in the next appointment.
Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.
I have worked in many different settings and helping diverse clients in different states in my 15 year career. I have worked with clients at outpatient programs, inpatient programs, including correctional facilities, working with multidisciplinary staff (medical staff, facility staff, administrative staff), assisting law enforcement as a crisis volunteer/victims advocate, crisis on all, risk assessment clinician, refugees, children to adults, both men and women. With that said, I can offer a therapeutic environment where clients can feel comfortable discussing challenging issues. I am also good at pointing out different perspectives and objective views and providing a clearer picture of what you are experiencing in your environment and past if it is appropriate. I often integrate such information with your treatment goals and your strengths.
