I focus on helping clients develop coping skills, assertive communication, boundaries with themselves and those around them, and gain the necessary tools that can help improve their quality of life. I am an LCSW, licensed in both New York and California, and have been working as a clinician for over 20 years. I have worked with diverse groups of clients, from toddlers to seniors and every age in between. I have also worked with couples extensively. My style is very interactive and I consider my role to be a partner with my clients - we work together to set goals, figure out strategies and work towards resolutions. I am also a firm believer that a good match is crucial to the therapeutic process - we both need to feel a connection and level of comfort as far as a working relationship for the therapy to be effective. Interested in seeing if we are a good match to work together? Please feel free to contact me and/ or schedule an appointment, we can chat and decide.

My name is Nima Robert Zahedi. I was born in Oklahoma in 1969. I have never been married, and do not have any children. I attended elementary and junior high school in Texas. In 1984 I came to California, where I attended high school. In 1996 I received a bachelor’s degree in psychology from California State University Fullerton. In 2002 I received a master’s degree in social work from California State University Long Beach. I chose to pursue a master’s degree in social work, rather than psychology, because I was drawn to the social work philosophy, and still am. In 2007 I became licensed as a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS). In 2015, I returned to school full time in pursuit of a doctorate in clinical psychology (Psy.D.). In anticipation of my doctoral practicum, I accepted two part-time practicum positions; one at a forensic psychology practice in Orange County, and another at a general private practice in Los Angeles County. On August 25th, 2017, I successfully defended my doctoral project at California Southern University, which is an online school with WASC accreditation that was established in 1978- the campus is in Orange County California. I defended my doctoral project on campus, where I also attended Master Lecture Series by leaders within the field, and met with my academic adviser as well as with fellow students who were in the area. My personal interests revolve around athletics and arts. I grew up playing all of the major team sports as well as skateboarding and BMX. As an adult, I began pursuing surfing, jiu-jitsu, musical instruments/composition, and painting.

Hi, I'm Michele. I hope to meet you. It can be overwhelming to find a therapist who is a good fit - made harder when you may already be overwhelmed by the very reason you are seeking therapy in the first place! I know, I’ve been on the other side myself as a client. As a clinician, I partner with you to learn what your goals are for therapy. It’s very important to me that you feel seen, heard and understood; this relationship is the foundation of therapy. I came to this work during mid-life, after years in the private sector in consulting and software training development, which gives me a unique perspective. My own experiences with mid-life and navigating life's challenges, and losses have inspired my focus to support adults through difficult times; these dark times are often when we have the opportunity to grow and evolve if we pay attention! Most of us, anywhere between 35 and 75, start to view life differently, needing to edit and let go of what doesn't serve us and focus on what does and will! I bring a strength-based and solutions-oriented framework to my practice, encouraging us to get curious about what's working, what's right with you and your inherent gifts and strengths. While we work together to look internally and gain insights, the hard work of therapy is often about making changes, building coping skills, even if small, to stay engaged in life and our relationships, through the ups and downs.

Appointment availability updates throughout the day. If a day or time you need is not showing as available, please contact (staff@skttherapy.com) for assistance in scheduling an appointment. Hello, I'm Shannon. In addition to being a Mental Health Provider, I am also a Nationally Certified Professional Mediator (NCPM). I have over 10 years of experience working with children, adolescents, teens, individuals, couples, and families from culturally diverse populations on a wide range of issues and concerns. My approach is collaborative. I believe that by working together, a positive outcome is achievable. I provide a warm, open, non-judgmental environment where one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are explored and discussed in an objective, respectful, empathetic manner. I am licensed in California, Colorado, and Texas. At this time, I only provide services virtually through a secure telehealth system. Four things I want you to know before you begin therapy with me: 1. I want treatment to work just as much as you do. 2. I am not judging you, and need to hear all of your truth(s) in order to best support you. You can't heal what you won't reveal. 3. I will not fight you for your healing. What that means is: I will not work harder than you do. However, I will be right there beside you as we navigate your Mental Health journey together. 4. If you don't connect with me, that's okay. Don't be afraid to try someone new, and keep trying until you find the right fit. I look forward to working with you!
