Hello, I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Texas, Georgia, and Florida. I currently have over 14 years of clinical experience treating individuals, couples and families suffering from various mental health conditions. Some of the many conditions I treat are: anxiety; depression; stress; anxiety and panic attacks; PTSD; anger management; communication deficits; family dynamics; life transitions; marital enhancement and breakdown; infidelity; parenting/coparenting; workplace conflict and military families. I use a client-centered approach with Cognitive-behavioral therapy as one modality out of many that I employ. That means that I am also an integrative therapist selecting the correct modality for the constraint (problem) we are solving. I am also a 10 year Navy Veteran treating Veterans of PTSD along with their families. My goal is to empower clients to overcome personal obstacles and improve their quality of life. I believe in the power of therapy to transform lives and am committed to making a positive impact on the individuals and families I serve.
What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?
In our first session, I will perform a thorough diagnostic interview while gaining an understanding about your presenting issue(s). Also, I will collaborate with you to create treatment plan goals that will help guide our therapy experience. It is my goal in the first session that: (a) you have been heard and understood, (b) there is a game plan for us with treatment plan goals; and (c) that hope has been instilled within the session.
Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.
Having over 14 years of clinical experience as a clinician, I believe that it is important to share a few of my strengths and successes I have held over the years. My specialty areas that I have focused on over the years are: addictions; PTSD; couples therapy; and military families. My strengths are: being genuine and down to earth; collaboration; understanding; nonjudgmental; organized; dedicated to the mission at hand; and being a straight-shooter when I need to be.
