I believe in creating a safe environment for individuals to feel comfortable to begin the process of self-discovery, growth, and healing. I believe that therapy is a collaborative endeavor that requires genuine caring without judgment. I assist individuals in clarifying their goals for treatment, rather than adopting one modality for all individuals and presenting problems. I consider myself to be an active therapist combining my experience, education, creativity, and sense of humor with a warm, direct, and down-to-earth approach to counseling. I have a wide range of interests and specializations, including but not limited to, anxiety and panic, depression, relationship turmoil, life transitions, bereavement, and post-traumatic stress disorder. I utilize a range of interventions including cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, and motivational interviewing.
