Hi there! I'm Emilie. Do you or your child struggle to cope with big emotions or regulate your impulses? I empower children, adults, and caregivers to reach their full potential through a strength-based approach. I specialize in helping individuals ages 4-12 and 18+ with Autism, Anxiety, ADHD, or other behavioral or neurodevelopmental differences. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, a Registered Dance/Movement Therapist, and a Certified Autplay Therapy Provider. I work to integrate my counseling and movement psychotherapy background with the clients and families I serve. I look forward to meeting you!
What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?
During our initial session, I'll inquire about your interests and the challenges you're currently facing. Together, we'll focus on ensuring your comfort and begin outlining achievable goals. The information gathered during the first session will help me gain a holistic view of your experiences and will help me create a personalized treatment plan. I utilize creative activities to help us connect such as drawing, virtual activities, or games.
Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.
I consider my greatest strengths as a therapist to be compassion and commitment to a strength-based approach. I emphasize fostering trust within the therapeutic relationship, which my clients frequently acknowledge by expressing comfort and a sense of being understood during our sessions. This trust forms the foundation for clients to feel safe in taking risks to grow.
