I am a Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) who is here to be a listening ear and talk through the issues bothering you. However, there also comes a time in the session where we will roll up our sleeves and collaborate to take concrete action towards positive change. This may involve learning about new skill in session. It may mean implementing new skills in between sessions. The goal is to create real change and find your peace.
What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?
In our first session we will talk a bit about what counseling tends to look like, and how we can tailor it to meet your needs. I will ask what has brought you to counseling and then ask some questions to get information about your history and the extent of the problem, including things like your family life, growing up, and your strengths and goals. At the end we will make a treatment plan outlining your goals, an estimated timeline for therapy, and set a schedule for our sessions.
Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.
Often clients report that they feel comfortable and heard during our sessions. They state that I am easy to talk to and they see progress after they meet with me. Having extensive counseling experience, I tailor goals to meet your specific needs and focus on your unique recovery.

VirtualMy treatment methods
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
Dialectical Behavior therapy allows clients to work to build skills to regulate their emotions. I have extensive training and practice with this modality in both individual and group sessions.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
Much of my graduate work was focused on CBT methodology. I have used this treatment method throughout my counseling to help clients identify and work on the negative thoughts and core beliefs that contribute to their symptoms.
Christian Counseling
Christian faith has been a component of my counseling since day 1. If clients are interested in discussing faith in session, I am happy to utilize the truths and strengths of faith to work with any mental health symptom.
