I'm a therapist who uses an eclectic approach to help clients increase their satisfaction with their personal lives, jobs, and relationships. Using a person-centered approach, the client and therapist will work together to better understand and solve the client's problems. I work with the client to obtain positive change in their life. I use many different treatment approaches to help the client reach their goals.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

After a brief introduction, the client and I will begin to discuss the client's concerns and how a therapist might help. I will ask the client to describe the positive aspects of themselves and their lives. I will ask them to describe their major strengths so we can understand what to build on. What is it that brought the client into therapy? What is it that they want to change about their life?

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I am an accepting, caring person. I don't want to provide answers to a client - I want them to find the answers themselves. My job is to provide a different perspective on their problems and increase the client's awareness of how their thoughts affect how they feel. I view my role is as a guide on a journey to self-knowledge.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Therapist helps clients identify their frequent thoughts and analyze them. Awareness of thoughts can help a client determine whether their thoughts are rational or irrational. Changing how someone thinks about something can change the way one experiences an event. This treatment is especially helpful for anxiety and depression.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

Clients determine what they want their life to look like and then how to get to the life they want. Clients decide their goals and how to pursue them. The client is empowered to take actions despite negative or self-defeating thoughts. ACT is an action-oriented treatment that helps with depression. Often used when people feel stuck in their life.

Cognitive Processing (CPT)

This treatment method is used to help clients process trauma. The client and therapist review and discuss the client's trauma, and then process the emotional content of the event(s). The therapist helps clients reframe their trauma and learn to accept it while moving their life forward.

Faith based therapy

The therapist only uses faith based therapy with clients who are interested in how their depression and anxiety relate to their spiritual beliefs and experiences. The therapist and client discuss the client's beliefs and how they inform the client's life and actions. The therapist and client will discuss how the client might align their life's goals with their faith. This treatment can be helpful for clients who are spiritually conflicted or anxious about their beliefs.

Eclectic

The therapist will use a combination of treatments and methods as necessary to help the client better understand themselves, their relationships, and their lives. Therapy needs to fit the client's needs, so an eclectic approach is designed to draw on different treatment methods as necessitated by the client. Therapist uses exposure therapy, CBT, CPT, faith-based therapy, mindfulness, ACT, and person-centered therapy treatments.
