When working with clients, I use a mind-body approach to increase self-awareness, self-compassion, emotional regulation, and tools to exercise mindfulness. Therapy works best when we can identify strengths and use this as a foundation of our work together while also setting a goal for psychological growth through hands-on activities that will empower the therapeutic process. In a world that is go go go all of the time, I believe it is beneficial to prioritize fostering a sense of kindness towards ourselves and our world, which has been shown to reduce anxiety, depression, and increase self-esteem and creativity.
What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?
We will use our first session to get acquainted. Building a positive rapport between the therapist and the client is one of the best predictors of success in therapy. I believe the partnership between the client and therapist is important so that goals and support systems can be implemented within the first session.
Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.
Clients have told me I am easy to talk to, and they appreciate learning how their minds and bodies work together. I have various tools and approaches that clients can choose from when trying to process difficult memories or emotions. It is essential to offer clients options and a comfortable environment to heal. My strengths as a therapist include creating a safe, non-judgmental space where clients feel understood and supported. I am adept at tailoring my therapeutic techniques to meet each client's unique needs, utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), somatic therapy, Brainspotting, mindfulness practices, and trauma-informed care. My empathetic nature, combined with a strong foundation in evidence-based practices, enables me to help clients effectively navigate their challenges and achieve meaningful progress in their mental health journey.
